Meet and Greet

One gruelling eight hour flight, a torturous two hour wait in security at the airport and then one last hour taxi ride and finally, you had arrived at the arena your girlfriend had sold out and was playing tonight.

Your schedule hadn't allowed you for this spontaneous trip but after a horrendous week of non-stop work and over-thinking sadness, you had hopped on the next plane just to see her smile again and fall into her arms to make everything better.

Leaving your luggage in the car, you spotted Max, who quickly sent his men over to collect it and move it to the parking garage that was currently storing all the tour buses.

"Y/N, how are you?" Pulling you into a hug, his firm body almost swallowed you as you gave him a sigh that told him all that he needed to know. "Come on, she's in meet and greet at the minute."

"You left her in meet and greet?" Max was very protective of Demi, not only because his job required too but because she was like his other daughter. He'd seen her at many stages in her life and witnessed the crazed fans that could take things one step too far. Usually, he stood only a few metres away from Demi as fans cried over the tiny brunette and posed for the camera.

"She's ok, I have my next two best men at either side of her. I figured I'd come get you myself."

"Thanks, I appreciate it. The last thing I want to deal with is rude staff."

"I've got your pass, don't sweat it." Pulling the lanyard from his pocket, he draped it over your head and around your neck to allow you to access all areas. "Come on, she's missed you like crazy."

"She's been ok though, yeah?"

"Yeah, she felt a bit ill at the weekend but I think she was just so weak from the performances. Nothing a good sleep won't sort out." Poorly? She hadn't mentioned feeling poorly.

"When is she next on, besides tonight?"

"The day after tomorrow. She's got two shows then we fly out to Germany."

"I see." God, how you wished that you could get on that plane with her and spend your nights fawning over her performance.

The two of you almost stormed straight through the arena, a tired smile on your face as you greeted some of Demi's crew members and some staff of the arena. You almost felt tears well up in your eyes when you saw the two people left in the meet and greet queue, both shaking with nerves as their idol stood merely six metres to their left.

"Do you want me to pull her away for a minute?"

"No, no. I'll wait and go through after these two." You signalled to the two fan girls that so nearly looked your way but you hid behind a huge Tell Me You Love Me poster. The last thing you wanted was for one of them to get too excited and shout your name or tell Demi of your arrival.

"She's scheduled back at her dressing room for lunch for an hour or so, I'll wait out here for you both but you have time."

"Thanks Maxi-pad." Almost growling at the nickname you knew he loathed, his large hand ruffled your hair before he stood off to the side, watching and waiting to pull his security guards away once the two emotional fangirls left.

"Am I done?" Her voice made butterflies erupt in your stomach. One year later and she still made you as crazy as the day you met her.

"Actually, there's one more girl, who's just dying to see you."

"Send her in." Demi approved as Max hid his smirk and waved you over. Walking around the paper wall and through the curtain, you saw Demi with her back to you as she drunk from her core water bottle.

"Hi swe-"

"Hey baby." All you heard was a gasp and before you knew it, in a brown blur of hair, her body was in your arms as she held you tight.

"You're here." She almost cried, making tears leak from your eyes. You almost laughed at how pathetic you were, you'd only been away from her just a little under two weeks but it had been the longest time and you needed her the most right now. "I can't believe you came."

"I- I just needed to see you." Her soft hands moved from your neck, to cup your cheeks as she pulled away, just a short distance away so she could look into your exhausted eyes.

"I know you did. I'm sorry I couldn't be there."

"Don't apologise Dem. This is your job, this is what you love. I've just had a rocky few days."

"You're here now and that's all that matters."

"Exactly." You sighed as she pouted sympathetically. Not giving her a chance to dwell on it anymore, you placed your lips gently on hers, trying to not get carried away due to the people who were people were still around. Demi didn't know half of these people and wouldn't put it past anyone to take a quick photo and sell it to the press.

But Demi being Demi, knew you needed to feel her and just be with her, pressed her lips harder against yours and brushed her tongue on your lower lip. "I love you."

"I love you too. Now, don't I get pictures at my meet and greet or is that only for paying fans?"

"Oh babe, you get any kind of picture you like." Wiggling her eyebrows to make you laugh, you giggled and pressed your lips against her smiling ones one last time before you moved to the spot in front the camera.

For the next few minutes, the two of you posed and laughed, jumping on each other's backs, play fighting, pulling stupid faces which made your mood double.

She could and would always make you feel better.
