Surprisingly, on our way out the door, an alarm sounds.
I didn't even know our school had an alarm.
Men in black run by us, their guns clanking and their heavy suits thudding against the floor.
We manage to make it into the sunlight before the guards find out that it is us they are supposed to be looking for.
"This way," Adanya states, jerking me to the right.
I follow her, breathing heavily.
I must be really out of shape.
She pulls me down an alleyway and I almost trip over a pile of bricks.
She reaches a large trash can, frantically pulling it away from the wall.
"Of course there's not only one boss, he's the final boss, meaning there's more than one," she mutters.
"What if all of the guards collectively are the final boss?"
She rolls her eyes and starts to press each individual brick on the wall.
"Um. If you don't mind my asking, what are you doing?"
"There's a place where you can enter a cheat code somewhere hidden in this wall."
Suddenly, she must have pressed the right brick because a panel of bricks slides to the left, revealing an electronic blue screen.
"Please enter the code," it says.
"Ooooooooh. Awesome! I didn't even know that was there," I say impressed.
"Here," she says as she tosses me her watch.
"It's 8:10"
"I don't want the time stupid!"
"This. . . isn't just a watch is it?"
"No. You can use it to call Dylan. Just press the red button on the back of it."
I flip over the watch and eventually find the red button she's talking about. I press it and hear a voice come from the other end.
"Dude, flip the watch over."
I quickly return it to its upright position. A blue holographic image of Dylan is hovering over the face of the watch.
"What's up?" he says.
"We're in a bit of trouble," Adanya states, typing on the screen.
"OK. I'm on my way now," Dylan says before the hologram blips out of existence.
Then I hear, "Cheat code entered," from Adanya's direction.
Blue lights start to swirl around Adanya and she goes, "I hope this isn't the cheat code for some new clothes for your avatar or something."
She is engulfed in a powerful light and when it clears she has some giant metal gloves.
"Metal gloves?! I need a vehicle!"
She quickly starts to try typing into the computer again but the fingers of the glove are too big for her to do anything.
"Tell me what to type!" I exclaim, squatting in front of the screen.
"JN3F76HGHL," she says, rapidly firing letters and numbers at me as I try to type them in.
"Cheat code entered."
"Come on come on come on," Adanya starts chanting.
Dulan then comes running down the alleyway right when the blue lights flash.
"I got here as fast as I could," he pants, "what happened?"
"They know there's something different about us," Adanya says solemnly.
We all turn when we hear something rev up behind us.
A black jeep sits behind us, almost too wide for the alley.
It has metal on the ends making it look cooler and for more protection.
"Everyone in," Adanya yells, already sprinting towards the jeep.
We all jump in and when Adanya turns the key is when we hear shouts. The guards have found us and they do not look happy.
Then we're tearing away from them as fast as we can.
