Unfortunately, Biology isn't the only class that is crazy today.
Something happens differently in all of my other classes too.
An obnoxious boy throwing a book out the window in English? That didn't happen yesterday.
A lizard crawling into my history teacher's hair?
Never seen that before.
All I know is something strange is going on.
However, even in the midst of all of this, I keep an eye out for anyone suspicious.
There's the detention lady with a ruler for smacking kids hidden in her desk.
The gym teacher who is obsessed with push ups.
The final boss really could be anybody.
At the end of the day, I exit the building and breathe in the spring air. As if I think that would return everything to normal because I usually do that every day.
"Dude, what's wrong with you?" a boy with a skateboard asks.
"N. . . nothing," I say before quickly scurrying away.
Suddenly, someone grabs my arm and pulls me behind a bush.
Adanya.
"You could at least warn me before you pull me into some obscure bushes and almost break my arm," I say annoyed.
"I thought you said nothing changes," she whispers forcefully.
"I'm fine thanks for asking."
She grabs my shoulders and shakes me, mad now. "This isn't a joke. Something is happening and you know it!"
"Yeah, everything that happened today was. . .new. It was kind of creepy actually."
"What do you think triggered it. Something new had to happen in order for this to occur."
"Did you and Dylan enter the game yesterday?"
"Yeah. But the game is supposed to adapt for new users and not change anything."
"Then I don't know."
Then it dawns on her."
"When you followed me yesterday, was that the first time you followed someone after school or is that a regular occurrence?"
"The first time. Wh. . .Oh."
"You triggered something Russell," she says worriedly," and we have no idea if it is good or bad."
"Sorry about that."
"The final boss might be closer than we think. I need you to continue keeping an eye out."
"Got it," I say.
"And keep out of trouble!"
She runs off leaving me in the bushes wondering what to do next.
