Spring breaks over and school is back in session. I'm happy I'm finally back at school, because now I can actually focus on something that won't mess with my feelings and get me all confused.
"Long time no see Val. Hey did you get done with the art assignment we had over break, becuase I had no clue what to do?" a familiar voice said behind me, while there arm was resting on my shoulder. I sighed, why can't I just have a day of peace? Is that too much to ask for?!
I turned to my left and saw a smiling Jay. "Are you kidding me?" I said in an abrupt tone, pushing her arm off me and walking away.
She furrowed her brows,"someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." I snapped right there. I stopped to turn and look at her,"You know what! I've had a crappy and miserable 2 weeks and really needed my best friend to talk to, but you were to busy with your tongue down Pierces throat to even realize I needed you. Then you show up all of a sudden, acting all buddy buddy with me and practically asking to copy my work and not once did you ask how I was feeling or anything!"
I stood their staring at Jay, whose eyes and mouth was standing wide open, looking at me in shock. I controlled my heavy breathing and turned around and continued to class. That actually felt good, though I do feel kind of bad now.
The rest of the day was good, besides receiving hundreds of texts and calls from both Jay and Pierce, but I ignored them.
The 7th hour bell rang, so I got up and grabbed my things and decided to skip my last class hour. I won't have to worry about getting in trouble, because I'm already ahead in my class.
I walked outside and decided to read a book under my favorite tree at school. I realize I have a thing for trees, but I can't help that they're nice and keep my safe from the sun.
As I was sitting down, I felt somthing pointy poke my butt. "Ow!" I yelled in pain. I leaned over on one side grabbing whatever poked me. I looked at the object and noticed it was a sticker. I tossed it away and began to read my book again, but couldn't. My mind took me to a memory of me and Jay when something similar happened to us.
Flashback
"Jay come on roll down this hill with me." a whinning 5 year old me said.
"I don't want to. It looks scary." Jay said looking down the hill. "Please? It's not even scary," I said trying to convince her. "No!" She said sticking her tongue out.
"What if I rolled down the hill first and show you it's safe. Then will you do it?" She messed with the end of her dress thinking, then shook her head yes.
I smiled then rolled down the hill laughing. Once I got to the bottom I ran back to the top to Jay. "See I told you it wasn't scary. Now its your turn."
Jay walked to the top of the hill looked down and turned to me. "You can do it, I'll be right behind you. But don't roll that way." I said pointing to a sticker patch. She nodded her head and laid down and rolled down the hill.
I smiled and ran to the edge and watched a laughing Jay rolling down the hill. My smile dissapeared when I noticed her starting to roll toward the sticker patch.
"Stop Jay Stop!" I yelled, but she couldn't hear me. I began running down the hill to stop Jay, but tripped and tumbled down the hill into the sticker patch with her.
In the end we both cried like babbies and had stickers and splinters all in us. I of course did eventually get in trouble, but I didn't care because now we both look back on this memory and laugh about it.
End of flashback
I sighed and closed my book knowing I couldn't read anymore.
"I figured I would find you here." I sighed already knowing who it was that was talking. "Can I help you?" I asked in a clipped tone.
She sat down beside me and continued," look I know your mad and been having a hard time and I'm here to apologize for that." I looked at her giving her a face to keep going.
"I'm sorry I haven't been there for you lately and ignoring you when you were hurt. I know if you were me you would drop everything you were doing to help me feel better and thats what I'm doing now. I already had a conversation with Pierce telling him I would be spending more time with you."
I looked at Jay and knew she meant what she said," No you don't have to do that, Pierce is my best friend too you don't have to stop spending less time with him." She looked at me confused,"But I thought-
"It is nice though that you did do that, but I just really missed you being by my side whenever I needed you." She nodded her head understanding," well now I'll make sure I'm always there for you."
I smiled,"good and I'll make sure I'm there for you." "So does that mean you forgive me," she said raising her brows. I smiled again,"yes, I forgive you." She squealed happily and gave me a huge hug. "Stop your squeezing me to death." She let go then looked at me with a serious face.
"So now that I'm here, what do you need to talk about." I looked away, something I've been wanting to avoid all day, talking about Blaze. But I knew I had to rant about this with someone.
"It's Blaze." Jay held up a finger"say no more. I'll handle this." She then got up quickly and made her way back to the school.
Oh know. Know what is she gonna do. I thought to myself. I grabbed my things and followed ger to the school.
She walked in and marched to the office, making sure no one was in there first and grabbed the microphone to the innercom," Blaze Jackson report to the principles office." She said in a calm official voice.
It didn't take long for her to show up and once she did she saw me and stopped,"Val?"
I was gonna say something but was interrupted when Jay came out of the office," Blaze you hurt my friend now I'm gonna hurt you!" She said as she took off running towards Blaze.
Gosh I need to stop this, I thought to myself, but how?
