Knock, knock, knock!

I open my eyes as I make the conscious decision to end my sweet, sweet sleep. It was the best I've had in a while.

Knock, knock, knock!

"AAAUUGH!" I groan as I drag myself out of bed. "Who is it?!"

" . . . It's me."

I open the door, still covered in blankets, and meet him in the hall.

"Princey."

"Hello, Anxiety."

"Couldn't you have come later? Given me some time to sleep?"

Princey blinks, "Anxiety, it's 1 in the afternoon."

Oh. "Whatever. Just come in, 'cause I don't wanna stand."

I close the door behind him and plop back down on my bed. Princey looks worried.

"Hey, I don't care what time it is, you still woke me up - so it better had been worth it."

Princey looks at me with an expression I've never seen him make before. It resembles . . . Guilt?

"I came here to apologize for how I treated you yesterday." So it was guilt.

"For making you wear that Dragon Witch costume-"

"-Princey, I'd rather not-"

"-knowing that there was no possible way you could move with any kind of agility-"

"-Princey, you really don't need to remind me-

"-and of course those photos-"

"-PRINCEY!"

His head snaps to me with a surprised and slightly startled look.

"Look, I know what you did, I was there." I had been trying to suppress and forget those memories, but it seems like the Prince takes pride in remembering every detail.

"Right . . . Sorry." At least he looks ashamed. "Virgil, I know that I abused your trust and hurt you, I'm sorry and I offer my deepest apologies . . . I would like to make it up to you, if you'd let me."

I sit up . . . Make it up to me? For real? How?

"What do you have in mind?" I'm not hiding my syspicion, I even squint at him.

"Well, Patton and I were thinking and we came up with . . . karaoke!"

"Karaoke?"

"Yes! We both have a passion for music and your voice is as glorious and magnificent as mine, so it's the perfect activity for us!"

"Princey, as appealing it may be to you, the thought of humiliating myself onstage in front of an audience of people is enough to make me want to die."

"Of course Virgil, no need to be so dramatic. We'll book a room just for us. Patton would like to come, but says it's okay if you don't want him to."

I lean my head against the blanket on my shoulder.

"That doesn't sound too bad."

Princey grins, you know the way he does, as if the best thing in the world just happened.

"YES! Great, we're leaving in 30 minutes!"

"WHAT?!!"

"I wanted to tell you earlier, but you wouldn't come out of your room."

"Uuuggghh, Prince-"

"-So can Patton come?"

" . . . Sure."

"YYYYYYAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!"

"Wha- Patton?!? Were you eavesdropping?"

"No, I asked him to stay nearby for back-up."

This is too much.

"Oooh, Virgil, thank you so much!!!! I promise you're gonna have fun!"

"Right." I'm having serious second thoughts right now.

"Alright! See you in 20 minutes!" I watch as they walk out the door.

 . . . Maybe . . . There's a slight chance I could have some fun.

Since Princey was making things up to me, I got to pick most of the songs, but being the kind and generous being that I am, I let Princey pick a few when he seemed . . . disturbed by my tastes. The faces he made while trying to mask his discomfort were priceless . . . I should've taken pictures ;) Princey chose more mellow songs, rather than his usual super happy and heroic Disney songs, which I greatly appreciated. At some point, Patton suggested we sing songs together, but that got awkward quick, seeing as over 98% of all songs are some form of love songs.

I guess it's for the best that Patton came though, we were only on our best behaviour because of him. He would add his own vocals here and there, in between ordering our favorite appetizers and telling us 'to have fun'. He sounded so hearty and genuine, I couldn't milk Princey for my entertainment, even if I wanted to. Occasionally, I'd catch Patton give Princey a look, when he was in the middle of commenting on my song choice. Again, it was fun to see him think of a compliment when he'd already said the first symbol of an insult.

Overall . . . It could've been worse. It wasn't great, and I definately would've preffered staying at home all day, but I guess this is necessary every once in a while. By the end of it all, I was drained of all my energy, and Princey was tired from biting his tongue and being polite all day, but he seemed oddly satisfied. Patton must've gotten us outta here, 'cause I don't remember how I got here, all tucked in, in bed. Who else could it be?

It's 3 AM, I woke up a couple minutes ago and kinda started freaking out, 'cause I couldn't remember anything I did today - or yesterday(?), so I've been recollecting the days events. Now I'm calm, and still tired, so goodnight . . . don't let those bedbugs bite 😈
