Christine's POV

We all were a team to make food. Seabury and Lee made the table while the rest of us made food. Well, The King sat at the head of the table and waited for his food a bit too impatient. We were having a whole feast tonight, yea we are wasting food, but I feel like we deserve it for some reason.

All we made was spaghetti with carnitas and a small salad. They seem mostly interested in eating something different than they would usually eat.

Hercules still felt bad about the oil thing and stressed about everything I was doing.

"Do you need help making food?"

And...

"Ah, shit, fucking oil jumped and burned the shit outta me..."

"Are you ok? Here put your hand under the water for awhile."

Also...

"Here, why don't you go sit down? It seems like you did a lot today."

"Ok, let me just make food first. If I let you guys control the stove there would be a fire. I should teach at least one of you how to use the stove though..." I thought.

I get that he still feels bad. But in all honesty, I feel perfectly fine and I don't think that he shouldn't worry no more. But I guess I could just let him be.

We all sit down and start to eat. Hercules, with no surprise, sits next to me. "Miss Christine!" Lafayette, who was diagonal from me, calls out to me as he puts a napkin on his lap. I turn to him and nod for him to continue. "I'm curious, and you don't have to answer it, but... Where's your Mama and Papa? I haven't seen them and you haven't mentioned them once." He points out, everyone nods and turns to me. I stab my salad and shove it into my mouth. They wait for me to finish my food.

With one big gulp, the food goes down. "You guys should know my situation since you'll be living with me." I take a sip of my juice and continue.

"My dad is in jail all the way in New Mexico. My mom is with the big man upstairs, and my sister is all the way in France with her husband and her two children."

"The big man upstairs? I don't remember someone in the house, nonetheless a big man." Seabury questions adorably and tilts his head to the side slightly. I giggle. "No, you adorable bean, I'm saying that my mom is up there in heaven with God. She was a good woman and the best mom someone can have. She worked day and night to get this house actually. But cancer got the best of her." They looked at me confusingly when I said 'cancer'.

"Cancer is basically a tumor that forms in your body. My mom had brain cancer so a tumor formed in her head. The tumor was so big that it pushed her brain against her skull. That's how she died. She wouldn't want me crying over her. She's in a way better place now, a place with no war, no conflict." I say and cut a piece of meat and shoved it into my mouth.

"And... your father?" Lafayette questions.

"Oh, he's in jail for child abusement, domestic violence, stealing, robbing, the list goes on. But my father isn't really a subject I like to discuss. But my sister, man she is so successful! She owns her own social media company for people in France! She even has a husband who helps run it with her. Her two children are brats but their good brats." I explain to them, I love my sister, she's the best. Though it sucks that she's across the ocean and not by my side. Though she comes on occasion, like my birthday, Christmas, and days for vacation.

"You must have lived a rough life," Washington says quietly.

"I have, but so has everyone, some having it rougher than others. So I'm not special in my case, besides all the bad things that had happened I lived a pretty decent life." I explain.

"That is true," Washington starts, "but you still had a rough childhood. Even though people had it worse than you, it doesn't mean that your case should be ignored." He says. I stare at him a bit impressed. He basically said that even if people had a worse state than I did... he still cared about me. Tears pricked my eyes.

"C'mon, Washington!" I sniffed and rubbed my eyes with my arm. "Your gonna make me cry at the table!" Washington turns to me surprised.

"Wha-"

"Way to go, 'The first president of America', making a girl cry. Who would have known?" King George teases Washington. Washington stutters flustered.

"No," I sniffed a bit more, "It's just, what you said was very heartwarming!"I rub my eyes to stop the tears. "No one else besides my sis really cared for me that much in a while," I whisper the last part and rub the tears away.

"Even so! Let's not waste any food!! Let's eat!"

Small Time Skip

We finished the food.

Usually, on days like this, it takes two days for dishes to pile up. Sometimes even five. I stare at the pile of dishes that stacked the sink. All the plates, pans, forks, and knives.

"Do you need help cleaning those?" I hear a voice from behind me, question. I see Burr pointing at the dishes confusingly. I looked at the group walk to the living room, already browsing the shows that were on. I think I saw Alexander go upstairs. I turn to Burr.

"Yeah, It's gonna take awhile if I do it by myself. Thank you, Burr." I say and start putting the dishes to the side and turn the hot water and wait for it to actually turn hot.

"And you wouldn't mind if I question you about the year we are in? And some other things?" He questions, standing next to me. I put the stopper on the drain and take out the soap as the water fills up. "No, I wouldn't mind at all. Ask away!" I say and we both start the dishes.
