Jungkook walked into his room, casually throwing the contract on his bed before going for a shower. He didn't need to read it. He knew what it was. This must be his nth contract so he remembered the words by heart by now. They all had same thing over and over so he stopped reading them after few shoots and would sign them without even looking. Why waste energy on something as useless as this?
Next morning when his manager came to get the contract, Jungkook pointed towards the table that had the brown envelope seated on it peacefully.
"Did you read it?"
His manager asked when he saw Jungkook's signature at the end of the contract. The brunette didn't even bother to open his eyes as he hummed in response.
"Did you really read it?"
Jungkook felt annoyed at the repetition of the question and opened his eyes half way to glare at his manager.
"Didn't you just hear me? Take and leave. Now."
Hoseok couldn't help but smirk as he eyed the contract and then the carefree Jungkook.
"I'm gonna ask you one last time. Are you sure you read it and agreed to all the terms? There's no turning back after I take it to BigHit."
Jungkook sighed and lifted his legs off of the table in front of him before standing up slowly and stretching. An irritated sigh left his perfect lips as he pinched his nose bridge and then looked up at his smirking manager.
"If you are still here after I count to five you're fired. 1.. 2.. 3.."
Hoseok tilted his neck and laughed slightly at Jungkook.
"Okay then. This will be fun. See you later Kookie."
Jungkook rolled his eyes but as soon as his ears heard the nickname he glared spears at his manager.
"Don't call me that."
Hoseok was still laughing as he walked away, ignoring Jungkook's complain.
----
Two days later
Brrring brrring
The annoying sound of his phone ruined the peaceful silence of Jungkook's house. He glared at the device wondering why was anyone calling him. He had a manager for a reason. He cursed the person calling him before walking over to pick it up.
"What?"
His signature reply to every phone call.
"Is this Jeon Jungkook?"
The scared female voice from the other side asked carefully.
"No. He's dead. What do you want?"
The line went silent for a while and Jungkook face palmed when he realized the person on the other end actually believed him.
"I'm not dead. What is it?"
"O-oh. Uh um yes. *ahm* I'm Suzy from BigHit. I called to inform you that your first photoshoot will be tomorrow at 10am at our main building. You will be doing it with your costar Kim Taehyung."
As soon as he heard the words BigHit, photoshoot and tomorrow, Jungkook tuned her out. Those were all he needed to hear. Rest was useless so his manager could handle it.
"Yeah ok whatever."
-----
Jungkook reached the Big Hit building with his manager half hour before ten, being dragged through the building because he was still trying to sleep.
"Oh! Jungkook is here."
The same voice from yesterday rang in Jungkook's ears and he flinched. It was Suzy.
Too loud. She was too loud. Not just her voice but her make up and flashy clothes too. It stung Jungkook's eyes.
"Yeah."
Suzy smiled brightly as she guided Jungkook towards the makeup room.
"Please follow me. Taehyung arrived before you so he's already there. You two can meet and-"
Before she could continue, Jungkook had stopped walking and was staring at Suzy's back.
"Hold on."
The sudden cold command gave Suzy chills as she turned around.
"Y-yes? What is it, Jungkook?"
Jungkook narrowed his eyes at her as he walked over and stopped only a few inches away towering over her like a python staring at it's prey.
"That doesn't sound like a girl's name."
Suzy blinked twice before she tilted her head at him.
"It isn't. Taehyung is a guy."
Jungkook grit his teeth.
"I'm not shooting with a male. Didn't you know that? Jeon Jungkook doesn't work with male costars."
"But-"
Before Suzy could respond, Jungkook's manger appeared at his side and signalled her to give them a moment. Suzy stumbled away trying to look unfazed but it was so obvious that Jungkook had scared her to the bone.
"Oh, yes you are. This is for an lgbt+ magazine and you signed the contract with your own hand. But you know what the best part of it is? Taehyung is gay."
Jungkook's eyes went as wide as a plate before he growled.
"HE'S WHAT?"
Hoseok smirked as he pushed Jungkook forward.
"I gave you three chances to back out but since you read the contract you already knew so we are good. Now, let's get changed."
"I'm not shooting with a disgrace. Hoseok, get your hands off of me. I'm leaving now."
"It's your fault. Now shut up and move your ass."
Jungkook glared over his shoulder at his manager but Hoseok showed no sign of stopping as he kept pushing Jungkook.
"Hoseok. I'll fire you."
"You can't. Because no one wants to be your manager. Don't waste your energy. Move."
