There are so many things that happened. The accident was a big news and it still is. The culprit was arrested named Varid Callope and the mastermind were Salvador Penillamor and Gertrude Callope. When they found out that Dawn and Richard were trying to investigate on them, they proceeded with this plan of killing them. They are now in jail along with Caparas who's currently being investigated for the glitch anomaly. Clarina De Castro with Amanda Fina Lopez are hands-on about the cases. They also hired security team to guard Richard and Dawn.
On the day of the crime, the condominium security personnel were alerted about the fire and luckily the rescue team was able to put the fire out immediately and was able to revive Richard and Dawn. Richard was gun shot close to his spine and he was 50/50 when the surgeons were operating on him. They thought he was not going to make it but thanks to miracle. He was taken cared of by his family along with Sandra who extended her stay for Richard and Dawn. It took him a month to recover and this was also the time when he got to finally see Dawn again who's unsconcious in the intensive care unit. She's in medically induced coma due to head internal bleeding which was caused when Varid hit her head on the wall. The doctors are closely watching her vitals while Richard is always begging and praying for a miracle for her too. He didn't spend a day without tearing. He is always talking to her and always praying for her to wake up.
As soon as he recovered, he was invited to a presscon about the crime and he went there even if their lawyer, Fina, was against it. Richard is hurt hearing such headlines that directly wanting to damage Dawn's reputation as an accountant and as a person.
He said in the presscon:
"I came here not to answer your questions but to leave you an important statement that I believe you should know."
There was silence...
"Dawn and I were already friends before we became accountants. Well, not really friends but she was my girlfriend..."
The crowd murmurs but Richard kept going on.
"Now, there are news that say na dahil sa kontra ako kay Caparas, dinoktor 'daw' ni Dawn ang audit findings niya. Well bullsh*t, p*tang *na ninyo, wala kayong alam. She worked hard to be where she is right now. She built her own company with her dignity and pride. She's not the type of person that will fraud you because she is real, so real na kapag kinausap mo siya, maiirita ka. Siya pa nga yung kinausap ni Caparas para baguhin yung findings but she remained intact sa kung ano ang totoo."
There were murmuring again.
"It's true that we're contractly working together under Clarina De Castro and it is true that we're rekindling the love that we have for each other... Oo, tama ang narinig ninyo, nagmamahalan kami. Pero hindi kailanman makakaapekto ang pagmamahal na 'yun sa desisyon niya at sa trabaho niya bilang accountant. She loves her job too at hindi niya hahayaang masira ang pinundar niyang pangalan dito sa industriya para lang sa pagpeke ng dokumento. Alam ninyo, hindi ko matanggap kasi walang kamalay-malay yung tao tapos sinisiraan ninyo siya. She's in comatose at nasasaktan ako dahil sa inaasta ninyo, parang gusto niyo na siyang patayin. She's the victim here. Hintayin niyo na lang ang resulta ng imbestigasyon hindi yung pinapangunahan ninyo ang mga bagay-bagay. Sinasabi ko sa inyo, sigurado akong kakainin ninyo ang mga sinabi ninyong masasama tungkol kay Dawn. Maliban sa career niya, you're also striking her in what she's doing in her personal life. Hindi siya malandi, hindi siya kabit, hindi rin siya third party sa paghihiwalay namin ng asawa ko."
Biglang may nagsalita sa press people, "Totoo bang may cancer si Sandra?"
"Ha?" Richard is confused and shocked.
Fina then jumped in, "Let's end this presscon here. Chard, itigil mo na 'yan," sabi niya sabay hila kay Cabredo palabas ng pintuan. The press people were following them bombarding them with questions.
