Percy's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. Annabeth stood up and looked around. He wasn't in the house. She looked out of the window and saw a figure running away.
"There" she said.
Percy stood up and looked out too. It looked like him. Suddenly they heard the screeching of wheels and a scream. Both their hearts twisted up in fear. Percy ran out of the apartment and down the stairs in a flash leaving Annabeth staring after him. Her mind seemed ti have kicked through her senses (finally) and she ran behind me. Percy was kneeling next to a bloody Nico. It was obvious he was about to die.
The driver of the car that had hit him had driven away. Percy hissed, yet picked Nico up and sprinted back to the apartment. He ran into the bathroom and put him down in the tub.
"What are you doing?" Annabeth exclaimed.
"Healing him. Pray for Apollo." Was all Percy said before turning the tap on. Water soaked Nico from head to toe. Percy put his hand to Nico's forehead and concentrated. The water stopped flowing away and stilled. It wrapped around the injured boy and Annabeth noticed all his cuts closing and his leg slowly getting set. She slowly joined her hands and prayed for Apollo to come there as fast as possible. Normally, Gods aren't allowed to contact demigods. But they have to make an exception. They have to.
They must.
"What's happening?" Percy said suddenly. The healing had stopped.
"Nico is a son of Hades. His soul's pull towards the underworld is stronger... I think. He isn't healing anymore..."
Percy took a deep breath and called to the water. It rose off Nico and all of a sudden Percy raised his hand and with a loud scream he slammed his hand onto Nico's chest. Nico arched off the tub. White and blue energy pulsed through the water that had now formed a dome over Nico. Annabeth realized that Percy was giving up his strength and his life to save Nico. Her hands desperately wrapped around Percy's in an attempt to stop and save him, but he was too strong. She could see the energy fading but Percy let out another scream and used all his strength to save his friend.
Annabeth screamed as tears streamed down her eyes. Call her selfish, but her Seaweed Brain was dying! Percy suddenly let go and collapsed onto the floor. Nico gasped and sat up to stare at an unconscious Percy and a crying Annabeth.
Annabeth got down on her knees to try and wake Percy up but he was out like a stone. His breathing was extremely shallow and she could barely feel his heartbeat. Nico was frozen in utter shock. He stepped out of the tub dry as ever.
"Help him!" Annabeth cried, gripping Nico's collar.
"I can't."
