Chapter Thirty-Four
❝How was he to speak what falling for her felt like?
How was he to speak for the rain as it fell into an ocean?❞
He couldn't get his hair right.
Theo fumbled with the gel that he'd put on his hair, standing in front of the mirror with a permanent scowl. He tried to brush it to one side, then part it in the middle, but he looked even more ridiculous. A frustrated sigh escaped his mouth.
Zach passed him on his way, and upon spotting his friend through the opened door, had to double back. "What the hell are you doing?"
He turned around. "What does it look like I'm doing?"
"You never style your hair."
"Thanks for pointing that out."
The blond laughed. "Here, let me." He went inside and began ruffling Theo's hair, before turning him around to catch a glimpse in the mirror. "Your hair looks better without the gel," Zach clicked his tongue, his proud reflection looking at Theo's. "More natural, I-just-had-sex hair."
He scowled. "I don't want her to think I just had sex."
"It's a metaphor. Deal with it."
He frowned even more.
Zach let out a laugh and placed his hands on his shoulders. "Let loose, brother. Tonight's going to be a night."
It was going to be the first time they'd go clubbing with the girls.
He was nervous, but in the absolute best way. His body was full of jitters and anticipation on spending the night with El, especially since he didn't need to put a filter on himself when expressing his feelings for her. Now that he wasn't going to miss another chance to be with her.
They also felt like it'd be nice to finally hang out and get a few drinks, which they hadn't had the chance to before. It was part of why it'd been hard convincing her to go. According to Daisy — who did a lot of the convincing — Travis had forbid El to go out because he didn't like it. And if she did want to go, he'd never leave her alone. Some would find that romantic, but knowing the guy, Theo just pursed his lips.
He never hated someone as much as he hated him.
That's why this night was all for her.
