"We could call a handyman, babe, you're gonna hurt yourself." Taylor physically winced as she watched her girlfriend standing on a tall ladder, ready to drill holes into the wall above the bookcase to hang pictures. It wasn't that hard of a task but considering Karlie's clumsy track record, she was bound to break an arm, or two.

"Have you seen these guns," Karlie dramatically flexed her biceps, accidentally making the drill machine juggle around in her hands and nearly dropping it directly onto Taylor's head.

"KARLIE! Watch it!" Taylor shrieked as she stepped away from the scene, she decided it would be better if she left the living room altogether. She couldn't bear to watch Karlie try her best at drilling holes into concrete, though it was a relatively easy task, the girl couldn't be trusted. Taylor still remembers how she nearly impaled herself with some ancient sword on display at a museum on their fifth date, and how she unknowingly managed to break the percolator when Taylor had her over for coffee and how Karlie innocently tossed her a bottle of wine from two feet away and ended up crashing it on her marble kitchen floor. Taylor still loved her, despite the fact that Karlie accidentally broke almost half of the belongings in her house, well, old house.

There was still a lot of unpacking to do, the new apartment was cluttered with labeled boxes and new pieces of furniture along with some old ones that belonged to each of their old homes. The only place that was nearly complete was the living room, once Karlie finished with the picture frames they could call it a day on their living room.

Taylor decided to set up the bedroom, it would be wise if she did because she desperately wanted to sleep in a real bedroom. They had been sleeping on the couch for three days and if they did that for one more night, at least one of them was bound to wake up with back pains.

She busied herself with setting up the mattress that had been lying in a corner for a few days now, the freshly made bed looked tempting and Taylor could kill for a nice nap. Both of the girls had been working on decorating and setting up the apartment ever since the crack of dawn, only taking small breaks for drinking water or answering the phone.

Taylor was tucking in the last corner of the sheet under the mattress when a loud thud, most likely from the living room, caught her attention. She bolted out of the bedroom to find Karlie on the floor, the ladder was lying next to her like a fallen war hero and the drill machine was nowhere to be found.

"Karlie!? Are you okay?" The older girl questioned as she rushed next to her girlfriend that was lying on the floor, wincing in pain.

"I fell."

"I can tell." Taylor kneeled down next to Karlie and took her head into her own hands, it was pretty obvious that Karlie hit her head and she was quite hurt.

"Where does it hurt?" Taylor asked as she moved her hands slowly around the surface of Karlie's head, she got her answer when the younger girl groaned in pain when Taylor's fingers met a certain spot on her scalp. "How did you even fall?"

"I was trying to get to the left end and then I lost balance and I fell." Her voice came out like a painful groan and there was a tear or two in her eyes.

"Is it bad?" Taylor asked as she gently massaged her girlfriend's scalp, trying to ease the pain.

"It hurts so bad, is there blood? Am I dying?"

"There is no blood and you're certainly not dying, come on, get up." The older girl took her hands away from Karlie's head and placed it under her arms, trying to lift her up. She gave up after her second attempt when she realised Karlie was purposefully lying on the floor now, she knew Taylor wasn't as physically strong as she was and she never wasted an opportunity to poke fun at her girlfriend.

"You really thought you could pick me up?" Karlie's words were laced with a hint of tease and one could easily tell that she was trying to bite back laughter.

"Do you want to sleep on the couch tonight?" Taylor sternly asked as she got up and started heading towards the couch.

"No! Hey, wait up." Karlie called out as she got herself up, immediately missing Taylor's hold because her head felt light and her legs gave in too easily. But she never hit the floor because a pair of delicate arms caught her in time, she steadied herself and saw Taylor's face twist into a expression that undoubtedly meant something like 'told you so'.

The two made their way to the couch and Karlie's body was completely reliant on Taylor's. She regretted questioning the shorter blonde's physical strength, but of course, she wasn't going to tell Taylor that, at least, not just yet.

"We should've called a handyman."

"Nope."
