The Z's threw themselves on the boat.
"Zombies on board!" The driver panicked.
"Bail our!" Warren demanded.
I then got on the opposite side from where the zombies were and jumped into the water.
Once I hit the cold water, I swam up to the atmosphere. I saw Warren and the team swimming so I followed until we made it to land.
"Where's 10k?" I asked as I looked around for him. "Did he jump off?"
"Yeah, he jumped off with me." Doc said.
"10k!" I yelled.
"10k!" Doc yelled. "Kid! Can you hear us?! Send a smoke signal!"
No answer.
"I'm going across." I said.
"Topaz, you won't make it." Warren sighed.
"We have to get him." I demanded.
"No we don't." Murphy said. "And what makes you think he's on the other side anyway?"
"You know what Murphy!" I yelled. "If it was someone you loved you would be in my situation right now! But too bad you're too selfish to love anyone! And who would ever love you!"
"10k is a survivor! He's not going out like that!"
"Yeah. As romantic as that sounds, that is not much to go on." Murphy scoffed.
"Well I don't care. I'm going after him." I argued and went to jump back in the water.
"That's easy side of the Mississippi you're talking about." Vasquez said.
"Yeah. So?" I asked.
"I'm headed west. So is he." Vasquez looked at Murphy.
"Oh, is that right?" I asked in sarcasm.
"Topaz, you're not going back in there." Warren demanded.
"What are we gonna do, Warren?! Leave him?!" I yelled. "I'm not leaving without him!"
"Hey, hey." Addy said calmly. "We're not gonna leave him. Look, he probably just floated downstream. Right?"
"So let's head south." She added. "We'll find a spot. We'll camp out."
"There's only one direction he could've gone. We'll stay on the rivers edge." Warren said. "If he's on the other side he'll give us a signal."
"Well what about getting Murphy to California?" Vasquez asked.
"Yeah. What about that?" Murphy scoffed.
"Surprise! Not everything is about you! If you weren't the savior of humanity, I would have killed you by now." I huffed.
