"One thousand ninety four." I kept heard him counting which was annoying.

"Screw this." I said under my breath and hopped off the ambulance.

"Where are you going?" He asked as he lit a cigarette.

"Since when did you smoke?!" I said in shock and he shrugged.

I shook my head and grabbed a machete from the back of the truck.

I waited for him to shoot and we he did, he missed. That's not like him.

I ran up to the zombie that he missed and sliced the machete through its head.

More zombies began to come at me.

"10k!" I yelled but he didn't do anything.

He was just zoned out.

"10k!" I yelled.

Zombies blocked my way from getting back to the truck.

I swung my machete killed two zombies in the way.

•10k's POV•

As I took a puff out of the cigarette, I had a flash back from when my dad died.

I took the cigarette out of my mouth and put it in my dads so he could take a puff. After he did I laid it on the ground next to him.

"Thank you son, it's good." His voice was shaking from the pain he was in.

"Can I do anything for you?" I asked.

"Make sure those knots are tight." He said. "It's not gonna be long now."

He's about to die.

"It's double-half-hitch. Just like you taught me." I told him.

"Just be sure." He panted.

I reached over him and checked the nots to make sure they won't get undone.

"Promise me." He said. "You'll do what we walked about."

"When the time comes."

I stayed quiet.

"Promise me." He hissed in pain.

"I promise." I said quickly. "Just like we talked about."
