King and queen right where they ought to be
And I the little princess was oblivious to all that was happening
In that one bedroom castle of mine.
My parents were the king and queen with 4 little princesses and a little prince
Magical place.
I had all the toys and books I could ever want
I didn't realize my king and queen were suffocating in their jobs to keep us off the streets
King and queen tore themselves up at the bone in order to keep us safe and most of all happy.
Now as I grow I see the way my king and queen are hunched over, backs breaking for me.
I see what I didn't as a child.
And in those moments I realize I must grow and become the queen I was meant to be. The one they raised me to be.
I must grow to be the one who protects them.
King and queen right where they ought to be.
In my castle being pampered and loved.
