Lacey's POV

I wake up in a hospital. How did I get here? I scan my body and notice that I have a wrap on my left leg, as well as one on my right arm. I'm assuming I have a black eye considering it throbs in pain. I'm sure my body is also wearing multiple cuts and bruises. I try my best to call somebody in here but my voice is hoarse and weak from screaming. I must have been loud enough though because before I know it a nurse runs in asking what's wrong.

"How did I get here?"

"You were unconscious on the sidewalk outside. Someone saw you and we brought you in. You were in terrible shape," she explains to me gently.

Matt's POV

Where is Cam's room? One of the ladies at the front desk told me but the information already left my mind. Something with a five.. Was it room 305? 315 maybe? Yeah, it had to of been 315. I'm positive.

Stupid Cameron. I can't believe he cut his foot. I have to say I found it kind of amusing, but Nash had said over the phone that Cam was pissed that nobody would take him seriously; I conclude that I would try my best to act as concerned as possible about this incident.

310.. 311.. 312.. 314..

"Cameron Alexander Dallas!" I run into his room, swinging the door open. But it wasn't his room. My forgetful mistake has caused me to awaken a stunning girl who looks to be around my age. Her hair is long and brown, flowing down past her chest, wide blue-green eyes lined with long, dark eyelashes. She is absolutely beautiful, but she looks damaged.

"I-I'm so sorry. I thought this was my friend's room." I feel heat rushing to my cheeks as I awkwardly scratch the back of my neck.

"It's fine." Her voice is sweet and very quiet. A small upturn of her lips graces her mouth but it seems forced. It seems as though she had struggled to even get those simple words out. I can't help but wonder what happened to her.

"Um, I'm Matthew but most people call me Matt," I grin, trying to stay on a lighter note.

"I'm Lacey." She returns the gesture, smiling weakly. There's a short silence after her sentence.

"What happened to me- I mean you?" The question clumsily slips from my lips before I can stop it. Real smooth Matt.

"Well.. I-I can't talk about it.." she says, looking into her lap as she fiddles with her fingers. I can't help but notice the scars on her arms and frown slightly. I begin to approach her. l don't understand why somebody as beautiful as her would inflict scars onto their delicate skin.

"Hey, umm.. I know it's none of my business but why would you harm yourself like this?" I look into her eyes and lightly catch hold of her wrist while running my thumb as gently as possible over her cuts.

"U-um well.." She tries to search for words, but then she sighs. "Nevermind. It doesn't even matter. Nobody cares anyway," she forces out, tears brimming her eyes. Does she really feel that way? The frown on my face is surely evident.

"But you're gorgeous-"

"No I'm not. I'm worthless and unwanted. I screw everything up," she states, obviously distraught.

"I-I don't know what to.." I trail off, completely shocked at her choice of words. She is not worthless, whoever did this to her was.

Lacey's POV

Matthew is very sweet, and not to mention attractive, so why is he talking to me? Why is he still here? We're both interrupted by another young, female voice. I look to see the same nurse from earlier.

"Ms. Lloyd, you've been released. Your father is waiting for you in the lobby." My heart seems to drop out of my chest at the news.

"I'll be right down." I speak with a lump in my throat, trying not to cry. I don't want to go home. I can't. Anywhere, anywhere but there.

"Matt?" I ask, recalling his name from earlier. He looks back into my sad eyes with his chocolate brown ones.

"Oh. Yeah. Sorry, I was just leaving." he explains. He turns around, heading towards the door.

"Save me," I cry out with watery eyes, watching him turn around with different emotions clinging to his features.
