"HARRY!" Louis screams, dropping to his feet and cradling his lover in his arms. "Liam, go get doctor Smith!" He instructs with tears in his eyes. His eyes avert to Niall nearing the cupcakes and he tells him to throw them all away but keep the one Harry took a bite out of for doctor Smith to see how much sleeping potion he's taken.
"Hazza..." The older lad sniffs, burying his face in Harry's curls, keeping a steady arm around the boy as he held him close, too afraid to let him go in fear of someone trying to hurt him.
Memories flash into his mind of all the sweet moments they both shared together.
The time they met.
The time he taught him to play piano.
The time they became official boyfriends and...
The time they shared their first kiss.
What if he'll never be able to kiss him again?
With Harry actually responding to it, not just one-sided.
His thoughts were interrupted by King Robin entering the room with a horrified face.
"H-...Harry?"
The look on the King's face shows remorse, and Louis understood why completely. Being King isn't an easy task, so Robin is hardly spending time with his family (except Anne who is by his side no matter what). So, seeing as his own son is not okay due to him being too occupied with running the kingdom makes him feel disappointed in himself as a father.
The forlorn King kneels next to Louis (having no idea of his previous whereabouts but is glad to see him well), who is still hugging the unconscious Prince close to him, "Louis, what happened? Who did this to my son?"
"I-It was Princess Taylor, your majesty... I -we tried to stop her but it was too late. She had poured a sleeping potion on the cupcakes and Harry ended up taking a bite out of one."
"Did you have someone get Doctor Smith?"
"Y-yeah, I think she's on her way."
The King nods, instructing Louis to get off of the floor and place the curly haired Prince in his bed where it's more comfortable. Even then, the boy had no intention of leaving his boyfriend's side, and intertwines their fingers.
A few minutes pass with only silence and the occasional sniffs from Louis, Doctor Smith comes in with Liam behind, Niall by his side, the blonde boy done with disposing the cupcakes.
Robin takes a step back, letting the Doctor see Harry, "how much was his intake?"
Niall points to the lone cupcake on the Prince's desk, saying, "just an average sized bite."
"Hmm..." Doctor Smith furrows her brows, placing a hand on Harry's forehead, "no fever, but flushed cheeks..."
"What does that mean, Doctor?" Liam questions.
"There is only one plant I know of that is commonly used for sleeping potions..." The Doctor scrunches her nose, "Atropa Belladonna. Otherwise known as deadly nightshade."
Louis stares at Harry with worry, "how can we cure it? There's an antidote, right?"
"Yes. Anything that is activated carbon. But we unfortunately don't have any of that around here. The place that is rich with it is in the areas of Mundesy."
By the mention of the place, everyone except Doctor Smith stiffened.
"Of course." The King said with anger evident in his voice, "he said this wasn't the last we'll hear of him. This is all part of his plan."
"Who's plan, your Majesty?" Louis asks, his whole being beginning to tense up.
"King Cowell."
______No words were spoken after the reveal of the person behind the Prince's endless slumber.
As much as Robin longed to stay with his son, he had to find a way to get the antidote and put a stop to whatever scheme King Cowell has planned.
Doctor Smith tells them with caution that an antidote should be provided within the next week or Harry may be in grave danger.
Deadly nightshade truly lives up to its name. And the fact that Harry has a cardiovascular problem, the chances of him waking up is slim.
The information sends Louis into a mini breakdown.
"We have to get the antidote! Harry can't die! He can't! I won't let him I- " he hugs Harry's pliant body into his chest, sobbing hysterically, "you're going to be okay, baby. Just hold on, yeah? Stay strong for me, Hazza, please... I love you..."
Niall had to physically look away from the heartbreaking scene. He has never seen so much pain yet love shown in someone's eyes for the person they care for.
Liam could only watch as his best friend cries over his boyfriend, knowing that he doesn't want anyone else but Harry right now.
Both lads glanced at each other and exchanged a look saying, "whatever happens, we'll be there for them through thick and thin".
The sad moment was suddenly broken up when two figures came rushing in.
It was Queen Anne and Princess Gemma.
Niall had forgotten that their arrival from Dovardeen was today, and now the only thing they can do is cry over their son/brother.
"Oh, my baby." Anne sobs, and for the first time since finding the boy lying on the ground, Louis hands Harry over to his mother, who cradles him with just as much despair as Louis.
Louis walks over to his friends, wiping his bloodshot eyes, "I will not rest until I get the antidote and see my boyfriend's emerald eyes staring back at me again. So, either you come with me, or stay here to watch over him."
Liam places a hand on Louis' shoulder with a look of determination, "I'm coming with you."
"So will I." Niall joins in, "Harry's our friend and the love of your life. We'll help you get your happily ever after back."
Louis flashes them a hopeful smile before saying, "alright then, operation daylight is now a go."
...get it? Cause nightshade...daylight...no? Okay.
See y'all in the next chapter!
