The next morning I awoke to the sound of water running. I opened my eyes and looked around the room in confusion. I realized that we stayed in the city for the night. When I was in Cape Town earlier in the year I researched some things that I thought would be fun to do. I decided to take advantage of the fact that Savannah was in the shower. I called and made some dinner reservations for us. I decided that we should head home after dinner. It was already lunch time and I wasn’t really surprised since we only fell asleep early this morning.

A few minutes after I made the reservation, Savannah emerged from the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around her body.

‘I forgot that we didn’t bring clothes,’ she blushed.

‘There’s a boutique downstairs, I’ll call them and have them send you a dress,’ I smiled.

‘Thank you,’ she smiled and returned to the bathroom.

Once I showered and dressed, Savannah and I left the hotel in search for something to eat for lunch.

‘Do you like fish and chips?’ she asked curiously.

‘Sure,’ I smiled. ‘Why what do you have in mind?’

‘There’s a quaint fish and chips shop in Hout Bay,’ she smiled. ‘Their food is delicious.’

‘Let’s go there,’ I smiled. ‘I just have to call Kenny to tell him to follow us.’

‘I haven’t even noticed him around,’ her eyes widened in disbelief.

‘I can’t exactly go anywhere without security,’ I chuckled. ‘He’s been very discreet.’

Hout Bay had a spectacular view and the fish and chip was so ‘lekker’ as South Africans would say and according to them there is no word in English that could ever describe the true meaning of it but when concerning food it generally means scrumptious. In other contexts it could mean many different things. Some would argue and say that lekker means ‘nice’ but I’m sure ‘nice’ could never truly describe what lekker means! (A/N please excuse this rant!)

After lunch I decided it would be a good idea to go ten pin bowling.

‘Would you like to go ten pin bowling?’ I wiggled my eyebrows.

‘No thank you,’ she shrugged nonchalantly but there was a flicker of hesitation on her face.

‘Why not?’ I frowned.

‘No reason, I’m just not in a mood.’

‘I know how competitive you are,’ I grinned. ‘I remember the quad bike race. If you’re refusing to go, there has to be a reason.’

‘Fine,’ she said grumpily. ‘I really suck at bowling,’ she pouted.

‘Come on, I’ll let you win,’ I smirked.

‘Where’s the fun in that?’ she raised her eyebrows in confusion.

‘Trust me, it will be fun. Let’s go,’ I grabbed her hand and led her to the car.

Savannah was really bad at bowling. Most of the time the ball would end up in the gutter but sometimes she managed to hit two or three pins. I was a natural at bowling and without thinking I was knocking pins down. I won the game without even trying.
