Erik's pov

I sat in the cave with the other members of the guild when someone fell outside of the cave. Jellal stood up in surprise and was about to go help the guy when something suddenly leapt on top of the guy.

A grey furred wolf with a wolf head mark on its left shoulder in white. It growled at the guy it was standing before biting into his neck. Meredy lifted her hands to her mouth as the guy went limp. The wolf turned its head to look at us, blood staining its muzzle.

It stared in the cave for a few minutes before leaping off of the guy and onto a rock, sitting down with its back to us. "What should we do with it" Sorano asked, fiddling with a strand of hair. "Its dangerous but I'm not sure if we should attack or not" Jellal replied. "Maybe we should just leave it. Its not hurting us and maybe the guy did something to upset it" Macbeth pointed out.

I looked at the wolf and listened into its thoughts. 'Stupid humans. I'll kill all of them if I have to' It thought, still looking straight ahead with its ears pricked. "Maybe its part of a pack" Sawyer suggested. "What makes you think that" Richard questioned.

"I think Sawyer is right. It has that white mark on its shoulder which could be a pack mark. Similar to guild marks" Macbeth pointed out, gesturing to the white wolf head on its shoulder. The wolf pricked its ears and turned its head to the side, looking at us with an onyx eye.

It glared at us, not turning away as the sun finally set belong the horizon. We had all settled down when the wolf started howling. "Can it be quite" Sorano asked, planting her face in the pillow. I looked over at the wolf who kept howling before stopping as if waiting for a reply.

I stood up, walking over to the wolf. "Hey" I spoke, getting its attention. It turned its head to look at me with one eye. "I want to talk with you" I told it. "Why would a human want to talk with me" it asked in a female voice, not moving. I stayed unmoved and replied. "Your thoughts. You want to kill humans. Why?" I asked, looking straight at her eye.

The she-wolf turned around fully, baring her teeth. "Humans took my pack. They used us to figure out why we are how we are. They cursed us with wretched magic. I can't even switch forms because of this collar" she snarled, her tail swishing angrily.

"Come here" I told her, keeping a straight face. "Why" she growled. "Just come here" I ordered again. She slowly leapt down and stood in front of me, her muscles tensed. I covered my hand in magic and swiped at the collar, breaking it. The collar fell to the ground as she looked down in shock before looking back up at me.

"You realised me" she spoke in shock before a poof of smoke appeared and disappeared to show the wolf had become a girl. She had ankle length grey hair and wore a grey knee length dress with black leggings and a pair of black socks with black buckled shoes. She had a claw scar on her check and the top half of her right arm, a bite mark on her neck, a long scar on her collarbone and her leggings had a few tears in them with scars where the tears were. She had a pair of grey wolf ears with a circular tare in the left one, probably from a bullet and a tear in her right ear which was probably from a fight. She had a fluffy grey tail with a black tip as she looked at me.

"What is your name, strange human" she asked, looking at me with seriousness. "My name is Erik" I told her as she bowed a little. "I am known as Iwaki Hikishi but my friends and family call me Iwai" she told me, keeping a firm look even though she was quite short.

"So is all your pack this short" I asked, looking down at her. "No. I just haven't had my growth spurt yet. Even though I'm 23 years old" she replied, crossing her arms in a pout, her tail swishing in annoyance.

"Your quite grumpy" I teased, finding amusement in this short wolf girl. "I'm not grumpy" she snarled, her ears placed down with her teeth bared. "Alright. Calm down. I believe you" I told her. 'She has anger issues' I thought as she looked back in the direction she had been looking before.

"Are your family over there" I asked as her ears bent down in sadness rather than anger. "Yeah. Those stupid scientists took them along with me and my entire pack. I got out by running out the gates when one of the carts with supplies came" she told me.

"Why don't you come into the cave. Its warmer" I told her. She changed back into a wolf and padded into the cave, avoiding the others. I lay down where my stuff was and placed my head on the pillow when I felt something against me.

I looked down and saw Iwaki laying next to me. "What are you doing" I asked in more than a whisper. "I can't sleep without someone next to me since I always sleep with my mother and brother. Its something everyone in the pack does" she explained. I sighed and settled down, placing one arm over Iwaki who had already fallen asleep and slowly fell asleep myself.
