Iwaki's pov

"It's not fair" I complained, leaning against a tree. "What isn't fair?" Kiyota asked, sitting in front of me. "I've been giving Erik all sorts of gifts. I caught him a rabbit a couple of weeks ago, a thrush the other day and I even got him a squirrel today but everytime I've given him one, he's thrown it away in disgust. I don't think he likes me or wants to be my mate" I complained, having turned into my wolf form and llayinng my hheadd on my paws.

Kiyota put a hand on his chin. "Maybe humans offer different gifts towards mates" he suggested. I groaned and started digging at the ground. "Where am I going to find something humans give to show affection. I don't even know what they give" I growled.

"There's a town nearby. How about we go look around for something" Kiyota suggested. I turned into my human form and jumped up in excitement, instantly agreeing.

We headed into the nearby town and I was taken aback. There was so many humans and tall dens that stretched up high. I looked around with Kiyota as I eventually saw a place with what humans seem to call books.

I looked around the place until I found a book titled 'Living with Wolf humans'. "Kiyota look. I found a book with our species name on it" I called. He came over ass I pointed at the book.

He took it out and looked at the back. On the back was a picture of a guy who I vaguely remember from when I was just a pup. "Kiyota. Isn't that the human who was in our camp when we were pups?" I asked. "Hey your right" he agreed.

I took the book and ran up to a human who was sorting books. "Excuse me Mr. So you know where the human who made this is?" I asked, showing him the back of the book.

"Yes. He lives in a small apartment above a jewellery store a few doors down" he replied. I said nothing more after that. I dropped the book and ran out looking over the so called stores for one that said Jewellery.

I finally found it and pushed the door open. I instantly smelt a nice smell that reminded me of pine trees. Kiyota walked in after me.

"Can I help you?" an old human asked, her hair a silver colour like mine. "We're looked for the writer of a book about wolf humans" Kiyota explained. The woman laughed. "Oh dear. You hhavve visitors" she called.

An old human male walked out and looked us over. "Oh my. A couple of wolf humans in my shop. I wasn't expecting that. I believe I recognise the two of you" he explained.

"We were part of the only litter in the forest pack when you came to live with us" I explained. "Oh I remember you now. I believe you had a brother right" he pointed out.

"He was killed when we were in training. We prefer not to speak about it" Kiyota explained. "Oh I'm sorry but what brings the two of you so far from your home?" he asked.

"We are part of a new pack which humans in it. Iwaki here has beeen trying to get one's attention and get him to be her mate butt he isn't realising what her gifts mean. We need help getting a mate gift that a human would understand" Kiyota explained.

"Well that should be easy. The best way would be to get him something nice. In fact, how about I let you pick a nice accessory for the boy from our shop. No charge" he offered. "Really?" I asked.

"Sure. I'll even let you have something carved into it" he replied. I jumped up in joy before looking around. The place was full of shiny things. I didn't know what to pick.

I looked over everything and eventually I found something I thought was perfect. It was a gold band that was for your wrist. The man noticed what I was eyeing up and took it out for me to look at closer.

I picked it up and examined it and even put it on my wrist to see what it was like. "So you like that one I'm guessing" he laughed. I nodded. I handed it to him as he got a device to carve it.

"What would you like me to carve in to it?" he asked. I thought it over. Kiyota bent down and whispered something in my ear. I wagged my tail and told the man. He carved it in to the inside before putting it into a small box, tying the box with a ribbon then handing it to me.

"Thanks" I thanked, my tail wagging so hard I thought it might fall off. "Let's go. We should get back so you can give it to him" Kiyota explained. I nodded. Wee bid goodbye to the two humans before heading back to the others in the forest.
