The snake that loved the wolf(Cobra/Erik X OC Fanfiction)

Ch6:

Erik's pov

I sat down on my own in our current camp, getting some time away from listening to everyone's thoughts. I took a deep breath, taking in the scents from around.

I quickly picked up on the sound of steps that stopped next to me. I looked to my side since it was on the side that I was blind in. Iwaki placed something down on the ground and sat down, looking at me.

I looked down at the box. It was a small box which was wrapped in white paper with a purple bow. I looked back up at her. I listened into her thoughts.

'Why isn't he taking it?' she thought, digging at the ground. I picked up the box and she watched. I untied the bow and unwrapped the paper. Inside was a grey box with a logo on it.

Iwaki quickly bolted off somewhere once I touched the box to open it. "Iwaki wait" Kiyota called, running after her.

I furrowed my brows and opened the box. Inside was a golden bracelet with something carved inside. I looked at it. 'To E, moon in my life, From I'

I quickly scrambled to my feet, shoving the box into my jacket pocket. I took a deep breath and caught her scent, running off in that direction. "Erik? Where are you going?" Sorano called but I ignored her.

I ran through the trees, following the scent until I came to a junction. Mud and dirt was flung everywhere and a couple trees were tilting back, as if avoiding something.

I sniffed the air. I picked up on a new scent. One I didn't recognise and it was strong. Very strong. I looked at where the mud was flung and took the path to the right.

After running for a while, I heard something. The sound of water crashing, growling and barking.

I broke through the trees and was frozen in place. Standing in front of me was a massive black creature. It had large antlers, massive paws, a long tail with spikes on the end, spines on its back.

It was baring large, sharp yellow teeth at Iwaki who was backed up against the edge of a cliff, tail between her legs and ears bent back.

Kiyota was barking at this black creature, teeth bared in a snarl. The creature swung its long, spike covered tail and hit Kiyota, sending him flying. He hit a tree letting out a whimper as he fell to the ground with a thump, blood pooling out of a wound in his side.

I ran out into the open. "Iwaki!" I yelled. That caught her attention. She looked over at me as did the creature which met me with bright yellow eyes.

I stood my ground. "Duck!" I yelled before taking a deep breath. I let out a dragon's roar, hitting the creature, unfortunately Iwaki hadn't understood my warning in time and was hit by my attack too although it wasn't as bad as the black creature.

She began wobbling slightly while the creature fell over, falling off the cliff. Its spiked tail caught onto Iwaki, scratching at her shoulder and knocking her off the edge of the cliff.

I ran forward and looked down. I couldn't see her. I took off my coat and jumped into the thrashing river.

I quickly surfaced and looked around. I still couldn't see Iwaki. I took a deep breath andd dived under the water.

I looked around, trying to see through the water. I managed to spot a dark shape that was the same size as Iwaki.

I swam forward and reached out, brushing against fur. I tried to grab her but I had no luck. My lungs were beginning to burn but I refused to give up.

I swam deeper and reached out again. This time I took hold of her. I pulled her close, making sure I had a good grip on her before swimming back up.

I broke the surface of the water, taking a gasp of air. I brought Iwaki up so she could breath. "Erik!" someone yelled.

I tried to find the source of the voice but I was pushed back under by a wave of water. I fought to swim back up, having taken a massive breath of water.

I resurfaced, coughing and spluttering. I looked around, trying to find who called. I saw the other members of Crime Sorciere at the top of the canyon.

I was about to respond when I got a mouthful of water and was slammed into the stone behind me. My head hit the rock as my vision turned black, my body slipping into the water again.
