Ch3: The Rescue

Erik's pov

We all remained to crouch in a Bush as Iwaki, who was in her wolf form, looking out. I looked up before ducking my head when a large truck pulled up. It stopped in front of the gate. Iwaki took the lead and climbed into the truck as the rest of us followed.

I crouched between two boxes which was across from Iwaki who looked nervous. The truck started to move again before stopping after a couple minutes. Iwaki looked out before leaping down. All of us followed as we hid in a covered area. "I'm going to head into the lab but I need one other person" she explained.

"I'll go. I can hear if anyone is coming" I explained. She nodded before we headed to a door. I grabbed onto the handle and opened the door as we snuck in. I saw lots of doors with letters in the door. Iwaki headed to the one with C as I opened the door and snuck in, closing the door behind me.

I picked up many scents as Iwaki walked down the room. I followed slowly, looking at the cages. Each cage had a wolf in it and a number next to a letter. The wolves looked at me, clearly not liking my presence.

I almost tripped over Iwaki who had stopped. "Hey Kiyota. Psst" she whispered. A brown wolf with a grey paw turned around before his tail started to wag. "Iwaki. How did you get out of your cage?" he asked.

"I ran during the time where section F was out in the break session" she replied. "There's a ham behind you" he whispered. "I know. His name is Erik and he's here with his friends to help" she replied. Kiyota looked at me and nodded before turning back to Iwaki.

She was looking around before heading over to a button on the wall. She looked at it and the area around it. She leapt up and hit the button as all the cages were opened. Wolves exited the cages. "Does anyone know how to release all the cells at once?" Iwaki asked.

"There was a large round object in the room with the humans" one piped up. Iwaki headed to the door, looking at me to open it. I opened the door as she weaved around the still opening door.

I followed as Iwaki headed down a hallway with many doors that had letters on them. At the end was a room with monitors and a big red button. I walked over to the button and Iwaki leapt up onto the chair. Iwaki looked at me as I pushed the button, an alarm going off.

All the doors opened as a bunch of wolves coming from each wolves. The front door was opened as Wolves ran out into the front area. I ran out with Iwaki only to see a guy standing there, holding a blade to ameredy's neck.

"Stand down and I won't hurt the girl" he explained. Jellal was about to say something when Iwaki leapt and but the guy causing him to drop his blade as Meredy got away from him.

"Hey off me you stupid mutt" he growled, swinging his arm and causing Iwaki to be hit into a wall. She fell to the ground, coughing violently as Kiyota and a female ran over.

I went to go over to Iwaki when I noticed her head drop as her body shook. The guy turned his attention back to us but Sawyer had gotten behind him and attacked. Meredy opened the gate and Macbeth got a remote from the guy and got the collars off the wolves as they flooded out of the area.

I headed over to Iwaki as I heard Kiyota speak. "Come on Iwaki. Please wake up. Please" he whimpered, nuzzling into her. I bent down as the female licked at her muzzle when this happened. Iwaki flicked her ears as Kiyota's tail wagged.

She opened her eyes and sat up, wincing slightly. "What's wrong?" the female asked. "I think my paw is broken" she replied, licking it. Kiyota helped her up and they headed off as we followed.

The pack was heading off when another female turned to Iwaki. The two that stood by her started to cover her in licks before standing aside.

The one I assume is the leader, but her shoulder and got some blood on her paw. She dragged her paw down Iwaki's face before the entire pack started to howl as Iwaki just sitting down.

I walked over to Iwaki as she turned to me, the blood that went from between her ears, down to her nose now looking like it was part of fur instead of just blood. "Why didn't you go with them?" I asked.

"Because I found a new pack" she replied. I raised an eyebrow as she changed into her human form, clutching onto her broken arm. Iwaki bowed her head to Jellal as the red mark was still on her nose and up to her forehead.

"What's with the blood mark?" I asked, noticing the others coming over. "It's part of the farewell ceremony. If a loyal member of the pack is leaving, the leader will mark a stripe on the face to show they were a loyal member of the pack. The howling is a final goodbye and it allows the blood to turn to a marking" she explained.

"Why are you still here?" Jellal asked, a little confused. "I'm still here because your my new pack" she replied. Jellal looked shocked but put the guild mark on Iwaki's right shoulder in white, her pack mark on her other shoulder.
