KRISTINE'S P.O.V.~
"Do not change the topic Sam." I am really frustrated! I will get the answers today no matter what.
"What? No! I'm not changing the topic I'm just amazed that you are back to your bossy nature. How did it change? I was gone only for--"
"Sam!" I cut him off and in turn he sighs.
"Why are you so interested in knowing about it? It's not like you will change anything. We we will be the way we are. We will keep this so called 'dual appearance' till we get--- ah just leave it please. I don't like talking about it. Anyways I'll see you later." He says and just as he turns to leave, I grab his arm and force him to face me,with all my strength.
"No! Not today. Just tell me Sam is it because you wanted to stay away from the artificial attention and care from a few ones, who want nothing but your money? " I ask, making his mouth hung open in the process.
"W-what? I mean h-how?" I just giggle at his reaction.
"I can't believe this! You were hesitating to tell this? Damn it Sam!" I reply still giggling.
"Ah-I thought you might think it to be too childish." He says.
"It is! You both are smart enough to deal with that, you don't need to hold up an artificial look for the world. Don't you think if someone is really that bothered about money, they won't care about your appearances?" I ask finding it a bit illogical.
"Hmm.. but you are not money minded." He simply replies.
"Ofcourse not. Even when I saw the dual appearances I had no choice but to stay with you all, because of that deal I made with your father. And in case of money and other things, I already have much more than I actually deserve so there's nothing more I want." I explain.
"You sound a bit weird, at first you said people will be after our money even if we look disgusting. And the next moment you said that people may not. You sound confused." He says.
"What I meant was that your mask of this nerdish look will not stop those who are actually after money. But remember not everyone is materialistic. So its ultimately you, who have to judge who truly and honestly care about you and who is after your possessions. Trust me you know how to figure that out." I blurt out my inner philosophical talent.
"Well you sound like a philosopher, why don't you expertise it and become one? Trust me you're going to make a handsome amount money." He says.
"Too bad! I'm already assigned as your supervisor." I tell which makes him chuckle.
"Good point!" He says
"Well I checked that you are free this evening, you're tutor isn't coming today. So I thought we can go for a walk just to chill out a bit. What do you think?" I really need this, I can't even remember when was the last time, I walked around freely.
"A girl asking me out? Nice I liked that. I would love to go." He flirtatiously accepts my proposal.
I want to say it's not exactly asking him out but then I just leave it.
After bidding him I return to my room. Laying down in the bed, I thought of what just happened.
I don't know but still I can't digest it. If really that was their reason for hiding their true appearances, then why did Mark react so darkly that day?
For this simple reason he won't act like that.
Did Sam lie to me?
So many unanswered questions and now I think I should just leave them unanswered.
I decide to take a nap before we go out for the walk.
~*~*~*~
The walk is so refreshing. The soft touch of the moderate breeze is making me feel so calm.
We are currently sitting on one of the benches of the park. Children of ages of around five or six are running from here and there, playing and taking the taste of childhood to the fullest. I can't help but remember mine. Unknowingly a frown crept upon my lips.
"You look tensed. Anything wrong?" Sam enquires.
I turn to face him. I shake my head while giving him a genuine smile.
"You know, you look better when you let out a full smile rather than a smirk." He comments.
"Thanks? So are we heading home now?" The sky was getting darker with every minutes.
"Sur--" he is cut off by the ring of his phone.
"I've to take that." He says and walks away.
I lean on the bench, closing my eyes I try to trace the feeling of the soothing breeze.
"Oh Look! whom I just found." A deep yet too familiar voice interrupts my thoughts.
The moment I open my eyes to see who the speaker is, my eyes automatically become double of it's normal size.
This overly tattooed Guy in the black T-shirt and jeans, standing right Infront of me is none other than Zac, the one who used to supply me, my addictions.
"Zac? Long time no see man!" I try to play cool because I haven't payed him for some of the supplies. I was out of money and my pocket money was not enough. And then the crash, which made me completely forget about the trouble I invited myself.
"Shut up! Where the hell you disappeared? Forget it I want my money. NOW!" he yells in his usual dark tone.
Now I think why did I even start intaking those shits!? Those did nothing but put me into trouble.
I check my wallet and take out whatever I had, I knew that will not be enough.
Giving it to him I say," This is what I have at this moment, take it, I'll pay the rest very soon.."
"You think I'll give you another chance to flee away? No! I want the whole amount now." He retorts.
"Hey! Kris--- excuse me, who are you?" Sam interrupts out of the blue which makes me jump in shock.
"You! I saw you somewhere! Oh wait don't tell me you're Sam Swift?" Dan asks facing Sam.
"Yes, I am. Well care to introduce yourself?" Sam asks him.
"Nah! Your chick over there will get enough time to do that. Now Kris! It's the last time I'm saying. Give. Back. My. Money." Zac says still being horribly stubborn.
"Are you deaf? I told you I don't have any more right now." Really his is so irritating.
And as usual I am in his gun point.
Smirking he says" Mind your tone Krishie dear."
