(Iida's POV)

The train station was bustling with business men and women and students hurrying to get the train. I of course had come to the station 10 minutes early so that I didn't miss my train. I was sitting on a bench beside the tracks, texting Midoriya about the test that was coming up in Mr Aizawa's class. Midoriya was stressing about the test like usual and i was trying to reassure him that he will do great.

I sighed as Midoriya rambled in text about what could happen if he failed the test. My thoughts were interrupted as I heard a quiet "Excuse me" to my right. I sat up straight and looked to my right to find a (h/c) haired girl with a shy smile on her face. She was very beautiful with shining (e/c) eyes and by the looks of her uniform she was from a nearby school, close to UA. "Yes? How may i help you?" I asked politely. " Would you happen to be Tenya Iida? From UA?" She asked with a cute smile. "Yes, I am!" I said confidently, assuming she had recognized me from the sports festival. Her smile grew wider hearing me say this. "You were one of the three students who stopped The Hero Killer" She said excited.

My eyes widened. How does she know? I turned my head quickly, avoiding eye contact with the girl. "I'm sorry miss, but i don't know what you're talking about". I stated sharply. The her began to giggle quite adorably. "Hey, don't worry! i'm not gonna go around telling people the truth about the arrest of The Hero Killer" She reassured quietly. I narrowed my eyes at her. "How is it exactly do you know?" I asked slightly frightened. She sat down in the vacant seat next to me. "Don't worry, i'm not some creepy stalker. It's my quirk!" She smiled reassuringly. "My quirk allows me to know when anyone is lying, and when someone tells a lie I immediately know the truth"She explained with a bright smile.

" So you must know the truth because of the interviews we had to do for the news!" I said in realization. She nodded. "Yep and when I found out about it, I was was so annoyed!" She exclaimed. "I think what you guys did was amazing! Going against the Hero Killer by yourself, super heroic!" She exclaimed with a bright smile which made my chest tighten. "T-thank you so much miss..." "Oh sorry! forgot to introduce myself! My name is (y/n) (l/n)" She said holding her hand out for me to shake. I smiled and shook her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you (y/n)."

(Time-Skip To A Few Days Later)

(Y/n) and I continued talking to each other on the train and when it came time for us to part ways we exchanged numbers so we could continue to talk more. I have to say that she seems like an extremely smart and bright girl and that quirk of hers is very interesting. When we were talking i couldn't help but smile at everything she said, it was safe to say that I had a crush on her. The past few days (y/n) and i had been texting each other frequently and we agreed to meet up at a nearby cafe. I kept telling myself that we were just meeting as friends and that it was definitely not a date.

I walked into the cafe at the time we were supposed to meet to find (y/n) already sitting at a table. She looked up at me and waved, smiling that adorable smile. I smiled back and walked over to the table, taking a seat in front of her. "Hello (y/n), sorry if you were waiting long for me." I greeted politely. She shook her head. "No don't worry, you're just in time" she said as she checked her watch. "Good! I wouldn't want to keep you waiting" I said with a light blush on my face.

We looked at the menu for a few minutes before telling the waitress our orders. She wrote them down and told us they would be ready in around 10 minutes. "So (y/n), i've told you a lot about me, how about you tell me a bit about yourself" I asked interested to know more about her. "Well my life isn't all that interesting. I go to (s/n) ( (s/n)=school name btw :P) and I plan on becoming a Detective" I nodded indicating that i was listening. "I always wanted to become a hero but with a quirk like mine i wouldn't get very far with that" She said with a giggle. "A detective would be a perfect job for you though! I'm sure you'll be the best!" I exclaimed making her blush. "T-thanks Iida!" She smiled brightly.

We talked for a bit more, then the waitress came back with our orders. We continued to talk about school and other subjects while enjoying our food. When we had finished we agreed to take a walk in the park. I paid for our food like a real gentleman! and then we started walking to the park. The weather was perfect. It was Autumn so the bright orange leafs ans slight breeze made it a very peaceful walk. We continued talking about random subjects while walking,then we decided to sit down on a wooden bench by a small lake.

We sat there in silence for a moment just enjoying the scenery. "I really enjoyed today Iida" (y/n) spoke suddenly grabbing my attention. "So did I" I said with a smile. There was a silence once again, it wasn't awkward, it was a comfortable silence. There was a man and a women holding hands sitting on a bench next to ours. "I love you honey" The man said in a loving tone. "I love you too sweetie" The women replied back. I smiled at the scene hoping one day that perhaps that could be me and (y/n). I felt (y/n) suddenly go stiff and her smile faded. The man and women walked past us, still hand in hand smiling. (y/n)'s expression had completely changed. "(y/n)? is something wrong?" I asked concerned.

Her face was pale as she struggled to get her words out. "S-she lied" She stuttered out quietly. "She d-doesn't love him!" My eyes widened as I realized what she meant. I looked back at the couple walking away and back to (y/n). "That's the worst part about my quirk, I-I get to hear everyone's lies. That women is cheating on her husband and he loves her so much" She explained, tears in her eyes. "The same thing happened to me." She said quietly. My eyes widened at her words. "I said i love you to him and he said it back. He was lying. He was actually cheating on me." She said tears running down her cheats. The sight of her crying making my heart hurt. She looked up at me with sadness written all over her face. "Why do people lie Iida?" She asked confused and sad. I suddenly wrapped my arms around her in a tight embrace. "I don't know (y/n), I really don't know , but just know this, that I will never and i mean NEVER lie to you" I said holding her close.

And she smiled and hugged back because she knew.

It was the truth.

I. LOVE .IIDA. SO. MUCH. He deserves more love and attention.
