|Hitoshi Shinso x Reader| Pet Store

(Shinso's POV)

It was the end of another day at UA and I was walking home after the long and boring day. The lectures in class had dragged on and I really could not wait to get home. I was taking my usual route home, which was a street surrounded by nunerous stores and restaurants. Wasn't a very scenic route but it was the quickest way back to my house.

I had my hands stuffed in my pockets as I walked down the concrete street. I came to a halt as I felt small droplets hitting off my shoulders. I looked up to see that gray clouds had formed and was pelting rain down on the people below. I let out an agitated sigh. I didn't have an umbrella because the weather was supposed to be sunny today.

I held my book bag above my head trying to keep myself dry. 'I probably look like such an idiot' I thought as I looked around for somewhere to keep shelter. I walked up the street quickly until one certain building caught my attention. I looked up at the store sign. (l/n) Pet's! it read. I narrowed my eyes at the store. 'Has this always been here?' I thought to myself as I stared at the store.The rain started to come down harder and my bag was getting completely soaked. I decided that I needed to get out of the rain so I took a step forward into the store.

I stepped into the store and heard the sounds of different animals. Dogs barking, birds chirping and the sounds of hamster's running around that obnoxious wheel. I looked around the store, not seeing anyone. I walked around checking the different isles, looking for an employee. A different sound caught my attention. I short and quiet 'meow'. I turned my head in the direction of the sound and saw one of those glass pens used for holding the animals that you can pet and play with. (I don't know what their called X3)

I walked over to the pen, and looked down to see the small creature that made the sound. I came face to face with a small black and white kitten. It stared up at me, it little ears twiching slightly. I stared down at the small kitten for a moment before reaching down and petting the top of it's head. The kitten closed it's eyes in content and nuzzled it's head into my touch.

My lips curved slightly at it's actions and continued to pet the small feline. The kitten started purring in enjoyment as I scrached the top of it's head. My smile grew wider as I continued to pet the kitten. "She seems to really like you" A femine voice caught me off gaurd. I jumped away from the cage and looked towards the holder of the voice. 

My eyes darted to the smaller figure that was standing in front of me. There stood a girl who looked around my age with (h/l) (h/c) hair and bright (e/c) eyes. She was shorter than me and she was wearing what looked like an employee's uniform for the store. The girl smiled and giggled. "Oh gosh, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you" The girl said with a reassuring smile. I let out a sigh of relief. "It's fine. I just wasn't expecting it." I said scraching the back of my neck.

My attention was drawn to the name tag that was pinned to the shirt of her uniform. '(y/n)' I thought out loud. She looked down at her name tag and then back to me. "Yeah, thats's me! and you are?" She said lifting her hand up for me to shake. "Hitoshi Shinso" I said as I shook her hand. She smiled. "Well Shinso, welcome to (l/n) Pet's" She exclaimed as she took a step back.

I could feel my face heating up when she smiled. "Uh thanks..." I said lowly as I looked back to the kitten pen to see that the same black and white kitten had it's front paws up against the glass of the pen. (y/n) reached down into the pen and scooped the small fur ball up into her arms. I stared as the kitten snuggled into the fabric of her shirt. "I see you've made a new friend" She said to the kitten. She rubbed the kittens back and then looked up at me again. 

"Do you wanna hold her?" She asked taking a step closer to me. I tenced up, unsure. "You sure?" I asked looking down at the ball of fur in the girls arms. She giggled. "Course it's okay, she seems to like you and you seem to like her" (y/n) said smiling. She used one arm to hold the kitten while she used her other to grab one of my hands and moved it so I could hold the kitten properly. A shiver ran up my spine when our hands touched, hers were so warm compared to mine.

She gave me a reassuring smile as she placed the small feline in my arms. The kitten gazed up at me with it's big eyes before it snuggled into my arm, purring in content. I smiled down at the creature as it got comfortable in my arms. (y/n) gazed at the kitten with a bright smile on her face. "You're the first person she's warmed up too since she got here" She said looking up at me then back to the kitten. I looked down at her. "Really?" I asked in disbelief

(y/n) hummed a responce. "She was abandoned on the doorstep. She was really malnourished and unhealthy. Her past owner must have been a real asshole" She said in a harsh tone. I was surprised at her change in demeanor. (y/n) sighed. "I was the one to bring her back to health, everyone else who works here thought that it was no use and that she'd die, but I sure showed them" (y/n) said with a smile as she reached to pet the now sleeping kitten.

"Wow, you really care about animals huh" I said chuckling. (y/n) head perked up. "Yeah I really do, all the animals in here are like a second  family to me" She exclaimed with a smile. Her enthusiasm is almost contagious because I found myself smiling with her. "I really want to find them all a good home but at the same time I want to keep them all myself" She laughed rubbing the back of her neck.

I laughed with her and looked out the large front window. The rain was still going down hard, which i wasn't that mad about since I was having a good time in here. (y/n) followed my gaze and look at the rain. "You don't plan on going out in that do you? you'll definately catch a nasty cold" She asked in concern. I turned to her and shook my head. "If you dont mind, i'd like to stay here for abit" I smiled down at her, cradling the small kitten in my arms. (y/n) blushed but nodded. "No no stay as long as you like, it does get kinda lonely in here and I don't think we'll be getting any customers in this weather" She put her hands behind her back and looked up at me with her bright (e/c) eyes. I looked down at her with the same blush apparent on my face.

(Time~Skip)

It had been about an hour since I came into the store and (y/n) and I were just sitting on the ground getting to know eachother. The kitten was laying in (y/n)'s arms and it was sound asleep. We made sure to keep our voices down, not to wake it. I had learned alot about (y/n) in the time i've spent here. Her father owns the store and she and her siblings work in it along with her father. She is home schooled and hopes to continue to run the pet store as her career.I told her about myself obviously. I told about UA and my quirk. She seemed to be really interested in it. 

I was stroking the kittens back while (y/n) was scraching the top of it's head. I hadn't realized how close we were until I looked up to find (y/n) already looking at me. Our faces were only a few centimetres apart. I started to blush and I could tell (y/n) was as well. I gulped not knowing what to do. I observed her features then my eyes fell upon her lips. 'screw it' I thought and went straight for it.

(y/n) was surprised at first but when I so felt her kiss back. I leaned more into the kiss and I rested my hand on the wall we were resting on. The kiss lasted a few seconds before we both heard an all to familiar "Meow". We separated and stared into eachothers eyes before looking down at the small kitten, who was gazing up at us. (y/n) laughed which made me look at her. "God you such an attention seeker, aren't you" I laughed with her before giving her another kiss.

I'll definately be going back to that store.
