Chapter 24: Part Two

~Harry’s P.O.V~

I slowly walked into the room and the doctor walked out closing the door behind him. The room was quite chilly and I pulled my jacket tighter around me. I saw a figure sitting on the side of the bed staring out the window. I couldn’t see her face, but I heard her quiet sobbing.  What had happened? I walked over to her, sat next to her and pulled her into my lap. She didn’t resist, she just buried her head in my chest. I stroked her hair as she let out sobs into my chest. We stayed there for what seemed like an hour, but I didn’t mind.

“Rose?” I spoke just above a whisper, my voice shaky. She slowly looked up at me, tears sliding down her cheek. I wiped a tear away with the pad of my thumb. “Babe, what’s wrong?” She buried her head in my chest again shaking her head.

“I lost it Harry… I lost it.” She said in between sobs.

“Lost what babe?” She started to sob louder and buried her head in my chest.

“I don’t blame you if you leave me.” She whispered. I had no clue what she was talking about.

~Flashback~

We lay on the ground at the beach staring at the stars. I turned to her and held myself up by my elbow. She turned to me and smiled.

“I love you babe.”

“I love you too Harry.” I leaned in and kissed her, it felt like the first time we kissed, but better. I pulled away, grabbed her hand and pulled her up. I kissed her and slowly took her phone out of her pocket, luckily she didn’t notice. I grabbed mine and set them down in back of us. She smiled through the kiss and jumped up and wrapped her arms around me. I slowly made my way into the water, when we were out far enough I dropped her in. She thrashed around and got up clinging to me.

“I’m going to teach you how to swim.” And that’s exactly what we did for the next two hours. We took a break and retreated back on shore. We sit down next to each other with our toes in the water.

“Harry?”

“Ya?”

“Never leave me?”

“Why would I do that? I wouldn’t, no couldn’t ever leave you. I promise you I will never leave you.” I held out my pinkie and we intertwined our pinkies. ‘I promise’ we said in unison.

~End of flashback~

“I would never leave you baby. I hope you that that. I couldn’t.” She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into a hug. I hugged back and soon she was fast asleep on my shoulder.

I lay down and pulled her to my chest. What did she loose? Why would I leave her? I lay there staring up at the ceiling thinking. Then it hit me, I knew what she was talking about. I hope this wasn’t it, but she had lost the baby.
