(Nique POV)

The next day, Saturday, I headed over to Ray’s house. I knocked on the door, messing with my Domo bell ring. The door opened, revealing a man. Uhm…whoa…who is he?

 “Uh…hi.” I smile.

 “Hello.” He says. “And…you are?”

 “Zonnique.” I reply.

A smile spreads across his face. “Here to see Ray?”

I nod. He invites me in.

“RAY! ZONNIQUE IS HERE!” He calls up the stairs.

“Hello, Zonnique.” His aunt walks in.

“Hi, Miss. Kelly.” I reply with a smile.

Hm…this guy must be a boyfriend or something.

“Have you two be introduced?” Miss. Kelly asks.

 “No, I’m—”

Ray thunders down the stairs. Dressed in nothing but sweats and socks. His body…? I wasn’t complaining.

“Hey, Domi.” He gave a hug.

I felt myself blush as I hug him back. “Hey.”

 The man cleared his throat.

“Oh! Uhm…Domi…this is my dad, Randy Smith.” Ray says. “Dad, this is Zonnique…a friend of mine.”

“Hi.” I smile nicely shaking his hand. “Nice to meet you.”

“You as well Zonnique.” Mr. Randy says.

“Let’s give them some privacy, huh?” Miss. Kelly says, pushing Mr. Randy out of the foyer.

Ray looks at them, his dad had a smirk on his face. Ray rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. He looks back at me, then gives me my headband.

 “Thanks.” I said.

 “Welcome.” He says.

 We stand there, looking around.

“So…what are you doing today?” Ray asks.

“Zee, Ty and I are going shopping.” I said.

 Ray nods.

 “You?” I asked.

“Nothing. Probably chill with my dad.” He says.

I nod, slipping my headband. “I guess I’ll see you later.”

“Yeah.” Ray says, walking me to the door. “And…Domi?”

I turn around. “Yep?” I asked.

“You look really pretty today.” He says.

I blushed and looked down. “Thanks.” I said, softly. I walked down the front steps and down the street back to my house. He said I looked pretty. What’s up with that? Why is he being so nice? Don’t get me wrong…I adore that fact that he’s nicer. But…it’s still a little strange. That got me thinking.
