02 | cold hands.

JENNIE

PANIC quickly fills me. i let out muffled screams before the stranger finally takes their hand off. i turn around to see a group of five girls with joohyun standing in the centre.

red velvet.

"so you're a part of blackpink now huh?" joohyun steps closer with a menacing smirk.

she grabs my hair and yanks it causing me to wince. "don't try to mess with me or you'll regret it." she grits her teeth.

i gather all of my courage and spit on her. i honestly don't know how i even did that. she backs off. instead another girl with light brown hair steps up and hits me in the face. i feel my face burning. she kicks me causing me to fall down.

"that's enough seungwan, let's go." i hear someone probably joohyun saying as black spots start invading my vision.

"hey are you okay." i feel something ice-cold touch my face.

i slowly open to see a girl bending over looking at me. we're face to face. and oh god she was gorgeous. i stare into her eyes for a few seconds before getting up.

"are you okay?" the black haired girl asks again.

"yeah i'm fine i think." i touch my face where seungwan hit me, it still hurt.

"i saw what they did to you. i'm sorry for not helping." she apologises.

"it's fine." i say dusting my skirt.

the girl had pale skin with gorgeous black locks falling down to her waist. she was just as tall as me and looked around my age. she's wearing the school uniform so she's probably a student here.

"i'm jisoo, kim jisoo." her name sounds familiar. she extends her hand and i shake it, her ice cold skin immediately makes me pull my hand back.

"oh sorry, my hands are really cold because of the weather." she apologetically smiles.

"it's fine i'm kim jennie. nice to meet you jisoo."

and then awkward silence fills the air as both of us wait for the other to say something first.

"so are you a student here?" wow nice question jennie. she's wearing the school uniform of course she's a fucking student.

"uh yeah."

"how old are you?" i've been wanting to ask this question since i met her.

"i'm eighteen- no seventeen." i give her a confused look but just brush it off.

how the hell do you get confused about your own age? i want to ask her but decide it's better not to.

"so do you wanna go get coffee?" i'm surprised at my boldness. i would be lying if i said that i wasn't interested in the girl. she just seemed so intriguing.

"um i don't really drink coffee. or anything for that matter." she mumbles under her breath, quite enough so that i don't hear it.

"but i would love to get to know you more. you seem pretty nice." she smiles.

"are you free tomorrow after school?" she asks. i feel my heart beat quicken. is she asking me out? what am i supposed to say? oh my god. somebody help me.

"y-yeah." i stutter.

"good! there's a park nearby. how about we go there?" 

"of course."

i smile to myself as i walk home. except for the part where i got beat up, the first day of school wasn't that bad.
