JENNIE walked down the same boring hallway of her school going from class to class. she glanced at her watch and then sighed. there were still a few hours left till school ended.

the hallway was mostly empty. she was about to turn right when what she heard stopped her dead in her tracks.

"what the fuck sooyoung! we trusted you." a voice which sounded a awful lot like joohyun yelled but only loud enough for the people within a few steps from her to hear.

jennie hid behind the wall and peeked. sure enough, it was joohyun and her group. joohyun stood with her back facing jennie with seungwan on her right while seulgi and yerim stood to her left. opposite them sooyoung stood with her head hanging low.

it was the first time jennie was seeing her look so unlike herself. usually sooyoung had an aura that commanded respect. her walk was filled with confidence and her gaze had the potential to kill a person. but right now she looked weak and cowardly.

"are you sure it was her you saw seungwan?" joohyun inquired turning to the girl beside her.

"i'm sure, it was her. it was jennie." seungwan replied with confidence.

jennie's eyes widened at the mention of her name. her suspicion had been right. seungwan had seen her.

"i think i've always made myself clear on how you should stay away from that group." jennie couldn't see joohyun but the anger in her voice was enough to scare her.

"especially after what happened a year ago." joohyun breathed out. "you're a smart girl sooyoung, you should know better."

the whole time sooyoung kept her eyes focused on her feet and didn't dare to look up.

"she is my partner for an assignment." sooyoung mumbled.

"do i look like i fucking care?" joohyun lost her temper again. "i don't give a fuck if she's your partner. make her do the assignment on her own."

"look at me." she said in a commanding tone and sooyoung forced her eyes up to meet joohyun's.

"i'm giving you one last chance. you mess up, you know the consequences. understood?"

"yes." sooyoung meekly replied.

"good." she turned to the rest of the group. "no one will bring this up again. am i clear?"

the girls all respond with a "yes." in unison and then start walking off.

jennie quickly turned away and walked off quickly so that they didn't see her.

the rest of the day at school was plain and boring and jennie was glad when the bell rang signalling the end of school. but something was weird. she hadn't seen jisoo the whole day.

usually the girl would show up to meet jennie in between classes but today she didn't.

jennie walked home silently hoping to see jisoo in her room once she opened the door. she got home but the house was empty. jisoo wasn't there too.

she furrowed her eyebrows trying to come up with a logical explanation of where jisoo could be. maybe the ghosts of their town had a meeting or something? jennie facepalmed herself at her stupid thoughts.

but where was jisoo?
