Chapter twenty-two

Before opening the door, I took a couple of deep breaths as I did I put my hand against my chest feeling my heart beat hysterically. I smiled to myself as I opened the door.

"Em..." I said softly. I heard Emily grunting in her room, she sound like she was punching something. I causally strolled into her room.

Emily had a pillow tied to a rope and to the ceiling. She was hitting it hard dodging it when it came by her. Her body sweated against the beaming sun, my heart grew faster.

"Emily..." I said. She did not respond to me, she looked angry, fire burned in her eyes. She grunted with anger in her voice, growling at times. Something was wrong.

"Emily..." I said approaching her. I pulled her arms back as she battled me. She was trying to break loose.

"Emily...." I said louder. "Stop!" My arms began to hurt. I jumped on the bed with her on top of my chest. I wrapped my legs around hers. She growled and grunted, did not ask me to let her go or screamed. Soon she calmed down enough to let her loose.

When she was calm enough she explained to me the fight that her and her best friend got into. I had told Emily it was not her fault and that this was the life she had chosen.

"I choose you..." she said softly, as I ran my hand through her wet hair. I smiled softly,

"And I choose you...this is your life now..."

Emily was taking a nap, when I was making myself a protein shake. I watched the news reports when suddenly something was on about Emily.

"She is not fierce enough; she is too caught up in Randy's performance which drives her to pull him away..."

"Randy saw a warrior, now they got a wimp!" It was hurtful what they were saying. It made me angry.

"I've heard it all before..." she said, leaning against the doorway, her arms crossed along with her legs.

"Emily..." I nodded, "Don't listen to them..." I said. Emily held her head down, "I'll try my best to be a lot scarier..."

"You are plenty...hell before I was nervous to approach you..."

Emily scoffed, sitting on the chair next to me, "You don't understand..." "When I got into kick boxing...I did not win a lot of times because I wasn't angry enough or fiercer." "After my father died, I became a monster...sometimes sending people to the hospital..." she explained.

"On stage sometimes...I get so...so...vicious."

"Was that why you were punching the crap out of the pillow?"

"Some Tia some what people said." Emily held her head down.

I wrapped my arm around her, "Hey don't worry...we think you are tough enough...You have proved to me and to all of us...." I gently pulled her face close to mine,

"They did not give you the name The Viperess for nothing" a smile came to her face. Her eyes turned glassy. The sounds of the news came back on, with my foot I turned it off.

"Come on..." I said to her. "What?"

"Come on we are going to the ring..." I said getting up. "What, no Randy you just got back from jogging."

I kneel down to her, "So? I can go for a couple of rounds with you..." she smiled. We made our way to the ring, rushing down the stairs and down the street. We climbed into the ring,
