Chapter thirty six
It was time. My heart pound through my blue dress and out my chest. I was feeling extremely anxious to see Randy. My eyes examined the arena for him; I bet he’s looking for me too.
"May I?" John asked extending his arm out. I smiled slightly grasping his large arm. We walked slowly down the ramp and to our seats. Still, I searched for Randy, I listened for his name and I jumped when someone might've said it.
Hours passed, occasionally I would forget Randy and enjoy my time, then something would remind me of him and I would go on a frantic search. I tried not to make a scene. My heart grew heavy with hate for the people that surrounded me. I fidgeted in my seat a few times, when John grasp my hand and said the words that turned my entire mood around,
"You'll see him soon."
Randy's P.O.V
I fidget adjusting my bow tie. I felt as if I was being chocked. My face had sweat pouring down my face. I wasn’t afraid to make a speech I was edgy because I was away from Emily. I hope I could see her soon. I was becoming angry with each passing moment. I got up, splashing some water on my face, standing alone.
I took out the slips of paper and scanned them before going out on stage. The crowd clapped, I tried so hard not to find Emily. I just need to get through this. I can't be distracted. And there she was. My mouth gap open at the sight of Emily. She was sitting in the front in a blue dress her hair was different but that made her all the more....beautiful. Her eyes glistened at the sight of me, as if she was relived. I smiled at her as the crowd waited for my speech.
"My father..." I glanced at her one more time.
"My father...Cowboy Bob Orton...was the greatest man that ever lived. He is a loving father, wonderful grandfather, and the greatest husband anyone could deserve. His regin in the WWE will be remembered for years to come. I can’t be more honored to present the WWE Hall Fame Award to my father Robert ‘Bob’ Cowboy Orton.”
The crowd clap with me as my dad came out. He hugged me and made his acceptance speech. All the while, I kept eyeing over to Emily. She shined brightly, like gold. It made my heart pound. She made my heart pound. Sweat began to pour from my face, and I was afraid it was noticeable. Thankfully, my dad did everything short and we left together.
“Are you ok?” My dad asked.
“Yeah…” I said nervously. I noticed that she had a red rose on her wrist, probably from the flowers I sent her. It was the only way I could communicate with her, at least I could.
They put me five rows back, away from Emily. It annoyed me. I can only see the back of her head. I rubbed my beard numerous times, anxiously. I had a plan. I was going to ‘kidnap’ Emily. I’ll wait till she comes up the ramp, and I’ll snatch her. I need to be with her. I need be near her. Without Emily by my side, I feel she is unprotected. I did not clap for no one; my eyes were fixated on her. I could tell she wanted to look back, by just how her head was moving to the side.
“I’m right here, baby…” I mumbled.
Once the show was over I attempted to grab Emily, but someone got in the way of her. I lost my chance. She didn’t even look at me, at least I think. My last chance was at the dinner reception. I quickly got up, and walked slowly and causally to the dining hall. I fixed myself before entering the hall. There were so many people; it made it hard for me to spot Emily.
“Looking for someone…” AJ teased, walking around me.
“Hey, AJ” I said carelessly, searching for Emily.
