Mind Made Up

"here's your healthy baby boy!" The doctor exclaimed, barging into the room again.
Selena refused to take the bundle.
"What's the matter?" The nurse asked.
"I don't want him." Selena said quietly.
Everyone gasped.
There was a long pause before Selena said, "put him up for adoption."
"Ma'am-"
"Put.him.up.for.adoption." Selena said firmly. Her mind was made up.
"Miss-"
"Did you not hear what I said!?" Selena exclaimed, angry.
"Selena don't do it!" Shawn begged. "Please!!"
Selena shook her head. "No, I don't want him."
Shawn was crying. "sel..." He couldn't talk through his tears.
Selena didn't speak either.
The doctors hurried off with the baby, with Shawn at their heels, leaving Sel alone.
Once they were gone, Selena burst into tears.
