The fresh scent of gingerbread cookies filled the air, the house filled with scents of all the freshly baked goods in the glorious kitchen.
"Arghh, you shall not pass," A raspy voice spoke from a pirate decorated cookie said.
"Please no I'm begging you spare you," Farren's cookie spoke in a high pitched voice way over dramatic.
"I guess there's only one way to settle this!"
"NOOOO!"
And with that final word they bursted into giggles as Thomas bit the girl cookie's head completely off leaving jagged edges and cookies crumbs.
Elliot walked into the kitchen, for once actually dressed in nice clothes and hair tidy.
"Going on a date," Farren asked with a sudden burst of confidence as she iced a cookie in pastel colors.
"No, just Skyping my friend... what a boy can't dress nicely for a friend?"
"It's just unusual that's all I'm saying," she laughed dropping some icing on the floor.
"Take that back!"
"She's telling the truth, you're a piggy," Thomas laughed.
"Oh wow everyone today is on a ' be a jerk pill'," he walked upstairs with that comment leaving Farren, Thomas, and his mom laughing in the kitchen.
____________________"She's amazing."
That's all she heard. Farren stood outside of Elliot's doorway, she was frozen in her step, mouth wide open, and eyes filled with pain.He liked someone.
Farren moved her brown hair aside before pressing her ear further into the door.
"Ooo Elliot's got a crush? Tell me more, tell me more."
The voice from the screen was isn't but cheery, a girl.
"For one this is not grease, and for two let me tell you about her," Elliot shared the girl's tone excited.
Farren tried to keep her eyes dry as she listened for a while longer.
"She's the girl I told you about last week , wavy hair, beautiful eyes, and a nervous mess."
A tear slides down her cheek and the voice of a toddler brings her out of her daze.
"What are you doing Farren."
She had never turned around faster. Her eyes were red but Thomas didn't seem to notice so she wiped her eyes.
"Nothing much little guy, what are you doing?"
"I was coming to say hi to Lilly, Elliot's," he made a strong face before finishing with, "girllllfrienndd."
Farren laughed knocking on his door.
Elliot kept talking until the computer voice said, "Elliot, you've got a visitor, get your mind out of your dreams and answer it! I hope it's Thomas I've missed the little guy."
Elliot's feet thumped quickly and he opened the door with a smile, "Thomas , Farren! Come say hi to Lilly ," he gestured for them to come in.
Farren blushed and immediately became nervous.
"Oh- I was just.. I was bringing Thomas I don't need to say-"
"Farren come in, and stop rambling."
Thomas had already entered the room and was talking to the computer with such a pure hearted smile and happiness, Farren might as well say hi to Lilly.
