It was misty a slight sheet of snow covered the road, and the windshield wipers on Farren's blue SUV went back and forth over and over.

Her best friend Carlie bouncing with excitement because she is leaving the cold to go on vacation, to Hawaii.

To say Farren was jealous was an understatement. Of course, she was excited for Carlie but she still would like to get away from the cold. Farren absolutely loathed freezing cold weather. To the brown-eyed girl, the cold meant snow, snow meant ice, ice meant slippery roads, and slippery roads meant no fried chicken.

"I can't wait to land in Hawaii so I can swim and..." Farren started to tune Carlie out, as much as she loved her best friend, the high pitched squealing got old quick.

She turned on the radio and started humming to the radio to keep her busy. Carlie kept going on and on about how warm it was going to be and how clear the water was. Farren was bitter about Carlie leaving her behind in the snow but she loved her nonetheless. She loved her annoying, curly-haired, clear-skinned best friend, however much she hated her, she loved her just a little more.

Finally, she pulled into the airport, parking next to a familiar-looking van. Getting out to help Carlie with her luggage. She grimaced at the sudden rush of air to her skin and shivered, grabbing the white sweater she kept in the backseat. However, it didn't help much as it was old and worn.

Farren walked with Carlie to her gate, and the two chattered about the plane ride and schedueling a sleepover as soon as she got back. Farren squeezed her tightly at the point where she had to let her go, sad to see that she would be alone for the next couple weeks, especially in the cold, guess Hallmark would have to do.
Farren's phone buzzed in the midst of her moping.

Great just great, now she is stuck at the airport for who knows how long. She texted her mom before looking around the airport, too bad they don't have a KFC anywhere. A Large green sign caught her eye and she smiled, practically flying out of her seat to get to it. At least she can enjoy some coffee and a sugar cookie while she waits for the weather to clear up, besides she had woken up way too earlier without breakfast and a boost.

As she got close she sniffed the air, which was filled with the Christmasy coffee scent Starbucks seemed to pump the air with. There was almost no line that brightened her mood even more. She got behind a couple in their mid or late thirties.

The man who was on the phone seemed so red he could explode, he muttered to whoever was on the other side, "No you will not let your brother do that!

She couldn't help but smile probably a misbehaving child. She was quite a troublemaker herself, but she would never admit to it, even her friends saw her persona as true.

The woman was ordering a bunch of coffees, around three and a small hot chocolate, for a family she assumed.
After they were seated Farren approached the girl working, dark skin with nice blonde hair plopped on her head with a perfect twist. Farren smiled, complementing her nails, usually, the first thing she looks at is a person's hands, because she is so conscious about her own.
She ordered a large caramel coffee, two cookies, and a breakfast sandwich.

THE SNOW WILL LAST FOR A FEW HOURS STAY OFF THE ROADS

She sighed, her phone was holding on to its fifty percent but if it lasted longer than two hours she would be forced to do nothing at an airport.

She overheard the couple talking about how she was glad her nieces had gotten out of there as soon as they did, so the boys weren't bickering with them when they got home. Well, aren't they lucky, they must live close. Farren frowned waiting for her order to come out as she scrolled through Netflix.
