She stopped believing it could work.

All I want is to be forgiven

She longed for it to be like it was. Longed for the way they were. They were David and Liza.

We were unstoppable. I fucked it up.

I'm sorry.

She begged herself to stop. But the words formed on her tongue faster than she could think.

The words hurt.

She said them. Watched him, fall to the ground. She turned and left.

I love you. Through all these mistakes. And I miss you.

Day after day. For a week she cried. Wished she hadn't done it. Wished she could take it all back. Be in his arms once more.

I can only cry. Thinking about you and seeing your beautiful face once more just to save it all.

She needed to fix it. But she couldn't. What's done is done.

I can fix it.

He showed up at her house just as she showed up at his. Having no success they went to their favorite spot and sat down, not realizing the other was there.

I came to say I'm sorry.

She turned and saw him once more. Tears filled her eyes as she said the words she meant to say days ago.

When all hope was lost.

I have brought myself to say this.

All he replied with was tears.

I love you. The first thing you told me at that park bench.

Then he finally said it back. And she laid into his embrace.

I won't fail us now. As long as I have you in my arms

We'll be fine.
