Once Boots woke up, she walked into the living room, being careful not to wake up Molly. She closed the door and saw Derek standing in front of the window, staring at the sunset. Boots quietly walked up to him and stood next to him with a smile on her face. "Good morning, Derek." Derek nodded but didn't say a word. He walked away and Boots' smile faded. "Derek?" He ignored her again. Boots just stared at him, hurt. Why is he ignoring her? It's like her great friend hates her now. She walked up to him and he just walked over to his room. Before he opened the door, Boots grabbed his wrist. "Derek, I know you can hear me." She softly laughed at the end of her sentence but frowned when Derek looked at her with disapproval. "Stay away from me you slut!" Boots let go of Derek's hand and watched him slam the door in her face. She fell to her knees and tears rushed down from her eyes. Everything around her faded to black and Satan appeared. "You see, Derek doesn't love you. What you just saw was what he actually thinks about you. That's what he actually wants to do." Boots stayed still, frightened. All of a sudden, the walls of the room that Boots was in began to close. She stood up and tried to escape. Seeing as there was no way out, she began to scream in frustration.

Boots sprang up from her bed and looked around, seeing Molly and Derek staring at her in the corner. Molly had her mouth open and her eyes wide while Derek just stood there, thinking. Boots noticed what looked like knives around her bed, sticking out of the ground which made her confused. Derek looked at Molly and shut her mouth. "Why are there knives in the ground? What happened? How long was I asleep?"

"The-" Before Molly could say anything else, Derek covered her mouth and shook his head.

Boots stared at them confused. "Wait. Derek, what is my name?" Derek looked at her, emotionless. "You don't remember your name? Are you feeling okay?" Boots felt relieved and she smiled. "So then it was just a nightmare then, huh? I mean, obviously, it was a nightmare. If it wasn't then I would be crying instead of being in bed, you would be ignoring me, and everything would be dark with..." Boots' eyes opened wide in the end. Derek just stared at her confused. "With?" Boots looked down.

Derek looked into Boots' eyes intensely. "Never joke around like that, Boots. Even if-" Boots smiled in disbelief, "you think I'm joking?"

Would he believe her if she told him the truth? Probably not. "With that little girl from the orphanage. Audrey. She was there and she was cheering me up." That's a pretty good cover-up. Derek just nodded and walked out. Boots got out of bed and took all of the knives out of the floor while looking at the clock. 4:57. Molly walked over to Boots and handed her a long beautiful black dress with some white diamonds on the top of the torso with black heels for today. Boots noticed that Molly was already dressed in another short pink dress and brown heels. Boots looked at herself and noticed something. "Hey, Molly? Why is my outfit really dark?" Molly turned around and sighed. "Well, E-Kaf, the leader, began to think that Derek was too nice because he was letting you wear whatever you pleased. So, like every other taken female, you have to start dressing up in your mate's favorite colors. Sadly, that's how it works around here. It sucks." Boots nodded. "Oh, also, Derek picked out your outfit. Today and tomorrow we have a meeting. Tomorrow Derek is going to pick something white."

Once they arrived at the meeting, Boots sat next to Derek as always. She started to think about the leader's name. E-Kaf. Such a strange name. It almost sounded like the name was fake...Fake. E-Kaf. Boots' eyes went wide. "Oh my god." She whispered. Derek turned to her confused. 'E-Kaf' soon walked in but he was carrying a dog. A familiar dog. "Cooper?" The dog seemed beaten up. E-Kaf forcefully threw Cooper down on the table and sighed. The poor dog was barely able to stand but did manage. Boots slowly stood up, causing all eyes to fall on her. Even Cooper's. Derek looked at her and mouthed the words 'don't do it'. Boots looked back at Cooper and softy barked. "Are you okay? Who did this to you?" Cooper softly and weakly responded back. "Maverick. He hurt me with his stick." Boots looked over at 'E-Kaf' or 'Maverick' and glared at him.

Making one more soft and angry bark, Cooper weakly limped and struggled over to Boots like she had asked him. "So, E-Kaf. What happened to this puppy? Huh? Cause I think that everyone here should know that you abused this dog with your electrical stick thing for absolutely no reason at all. Another thing that everyone here should know is that your name isn't actually E-Kaf. In fact, E-Kaf spelled backward is fake. Your real name is Maverick, which is very strange since Maverick means hero. And you are anything but a hero." Maverick chuckled.

"I knew it! Look, everyone! A 'Special'! Wow! I haven't seen one of them in years. I wonder how much someone would pay for her. This meeting is over. Kill the dog and take the girl." He began to walk away but then Derek healed the dog and set the people who tried to touch Boots on fire, causing Maverick to turn around with a huge smile on his face. "Wonderful! There's more! You know, I had no idea who you were, but now that you just proved it, I think I have somewhat figured it out. I'm going to take a quick guess and say that you are the runaway son of Hades. I am going to get so much money off of you two. Now, what was that thing that I was going to say? Oh yeah. Now!" Immediately, Boots and Derek got hit in the head with something hard enough to knock them out. Everything had faded to black but they did hear Cooper barking, Molly screaming, and Maverick yelling at the staff members to 'prepare the Specials'.

Boots and Derek were locked up in small cages on a stage after being knocked out each time they wake up, for fourteen days. They were up for auction. "For our next item, we have two healthy people. But these aren't regular boring people. This here is Boots, a zoolingualist. Yup. The last zoolingualist alive. And over here is none other than the son of Hades, Derek. You can do whatever you want with these 'things' once you buy them." Boots looked around at the people who were bidding. Derek stared at her and Boots just teared up and buried her head in her knees. Her bracelet was gone and she was slowly forgetting everything. That bracelet contained her memories. Without it, she will slowly forget everything starting from now, down to when she first got it. Once there's nothing else to forget, she will begin forgetting about the rest of her life. The longer she is without the bracelet, the more she forgets. The more she forgets, the harder it is to retrieve her memories.

"Okay. Boots gets to go to the guy in seat #107 and Derek goes to seat #49. Thank you all for coming. Enjoy your day." The cages began to go away and they set both of the cages next to each other. Derek looked at Boots. "Boots. Are you okay? Look, I promise you that we will get home. We'll get home. I promise." Boots looked up at Derek. "Who are you?"
