Boots woke up to Molly slapping her repeatedly. "Wake up!" Boots grabbed Molly's wrist, stopping the slapping and stood up. "Okay, so I'm good at makeup and hair. I also have your outfit picked out for the day! So, let's go get our makeup and hair done, and then try on our outfits! But, before we start, what is your favorite color? Mine is pink." Boots smiled and answered. "I like blue and green." After getting ready, Boots looked at the way Molly looked. She wore her hair in a loose braid that matched her short pink dress that was mid-thigh. Her black heels made the outfit pop even more, making her look amazing. "Wow, Molly! You look so beautiful! Pink is definitely your color!" Molly giggled and turned Boots around so that she was facing the full body mirror. Boots looked at herself in amazement. Her hair was wany and naturally down. But the dress was her favorite. It was light blue with a white lace cover on the torso. The dress wasn't puffy or frilly. I just continued downwards to the floor. She gripped onto the ends of the dress and softly twirled. "There were other blue dresses, but they all made you look like Cinderella, so I got you this one." Boots turned to Molly and hugged her. "Thank you for everything." Molly hugged back and a knock was at the door.

"That's Derek!" Molly squealed. She opened the door and revealed Derek. He didn't look different. The only difference was that he was wearing a tux. White on top but black on the bottom. Boots scanned Derek from his head to his toes and noticed Derek doing the same to her. Boots cleared her throat and began to speak, without a smile. "You look nice today." Derek held his head up high. "Same to both of you," Derek said. A couple minutes go by of Boots and Derek having a death stare contest in silence. "Okay guys, I think we should start heading to the island now," Molly said, trying to break the awkward tension in the room.

They were all on the boat with many other guests who are going to the meeting. Molly was speaking with people who were her age and Derek was talking to guests as well. Boots just sat alone but was called over by Derek. She put on a smile and walked over. "Gentlemen, I would like for you to meet my lover, Boots Kagami." Boots smiled and waved. "It's a pleasure to meet you all." The men laughed and walked away. Derek's soft smile quickly faded once they were gone and he grabbed Boots' arm to pull her to the side. "Boots, what are you doing?"

"I'm talking to others, why? Am I not supposed to? Is this something else that you're going to order me to do?" Derek sighed in defeat. "Boots, at other islands, taken women are supposed to follow the man, never speak to others unless told, and to never do anything unless told. Therefore, you have broken all rules when we've only been here for less than an hour." Boots looked down in shame. She was never going to fit in for the next week.

Derek let go of Boots' arm and walked over to a large table with Boots trailing close behind him. Most of the guests were sitting at the table with their wives and girlfriends who didn't look very happy. Most of them seemed terrified and sad, while others were all lovey-dovey. The ones who were terrified seemed to tense up at the touch of their 'soulmate'. "Derek, how come most of the women are terrified of the men?" Boots whispered. Derek didn't make eye contact but still responded in a quiet voice. "I'm sure that by now you've realized that not all islands are like ours. Most men choose their girlfriend against their will, and torture them as a punishment if they break any rules." Boots looked at all the girls with sympathy in her eyes. How could men be so cruel to women? It's like they're better than women.

Derek sat down on a chair that had the name 'D. Yamado'. Boots looked to the seat next to him that said 'B. Kagami', and the chair next to that one said 'M. Kagami'. It makes sense that they put Kagami on Molly's chair because they were 'sisters' and she was born without a last name. Boots sat in her chair and a few minutes later, Molly sat in hers. There was food in the middle of the table, which Boots was dying to eat. She gave Derek a pleading look and he noticed, giving Boots a small biscuit. "No more until later." Harsh. The biscuit was the size of her thumb. There was no way that she could fill up on one tiny biscuit. Boots placed the biscuit in her mouth and quickly swallowed it before quietly gagging. The biscuit was terrible.

After gagging, she heard a soft chuckle from Derek. "Now you know why you can't have any more until we dock. The food here is disgusting. Probably because the chef cooks with grease and the kitchens are filled with mold. The cupcakes and drinks are fine though. They're made by the baker and bartender." Boots quickly looked at Derek. So, they only have sweets and alcohol? Boots looked at Molly and noticed her staring at a boy who was around her age. He had white hair and the eyes that were a deep blue. He had a red top to his tux and black bottoms. "Oh, have I caught someone staring at a handsome albino young man?" Molly's attention snapped toward Boots and her cheeks were a light shade of pink. "Maybe!" Boots lightly giggled. "His name is Joseph. I met him earlier when you were sitting by yourself. He's really sweet!" Boots smiled and whispered, "Jolly."

Once everyone was in their seats, everyone was quiet. "Everyone, I would like to introduce the newest members!" Everyone began cheering but it was only for a brief moment. "We'll go from left to right. If you aren't new, nod your heads. Go ahead." The man who was speaking had sat down and everyone to the right of him nodded their heads until it came to Derek who stood up. He looked at Molly and Boots as if to tell them to stand up. Molly and Boots stood up as well. "I am Derek Yamado. Head guard of my island and possible lord. This is my girlfriend, Boots Kagami and her sister, Molly. Boots is a guard and Molly is a guard in training." They all continued to stand up as if they were waiting for someone to say something, which they did.

"If you're the head guard then where is the lord? I thought we only allowed the lord, his girlfriend, and other relatives." Derek looked over at the man who asked the question. "Well, our island doesn't have a lord. But if it did, it would be me. I was asked to be lord many different times before, but always refused." They waited for a little longer before sitting down. Everyone next to them continued to nod their heads. A blonde guy, black haired girl and a familiar albino boy all stood up. "My name is Thomas Salicia. I am the lord of my island and this is my wife, Celia and our son, Joseph. Celia is a guard and Joseph is a guard in training." They stayed standing up for a little while before sitting down, but Boots noticed Joseph glancing at Molly every now and then.

The rest of the people nodded their heads and the guy began to speak again." Now that we have that out of the way, we have business to attend." The guy just kept on going on and on about meetings and other boring stuff so Boots blocked him out and picked up two biscuits and some toothpicks even though her hand was slapped multiple times. She put all of the toothpicks into a biscuit and placed the second biscuit on top, making a tiny tower. Derek glared at her and she put everything away. "We need to improve our islands by..." Boots blocked the guy out again and took a whole stack of tissue paper, folding all of it into swans, butterfly's, and diamonds. The entire table area in front of Boots was covered in them. Derek glared at Boots and she gave him a butterfly. He slightly chuckled. "Derek Yamado!" Everyone's head snapped to Derek and Boots. "Your companion is being extremely disrespectful and must be punished." Boots and Molly's eyes widened as they looked at Derek. He looked at them back with the same expression on his face.

"What are you waiting for, Derek? Punish her." Derek continued to look at Boots. Tears were building up in Boots' eyes. She closed them and looked down, waiting for some sort of punishment, but nothing came. "Punish her, Derek! We're all waiting!" Derek turned to the one who was speaking. "I can't punish her. She did nothing wrong. She only did what she did because she was bored." Derek said calmly. There was a moment of silence before Boots heard the guys voice from behind her. "Then I'll have to punish her for you." Before anyone could react, Boots felt a burning on her arm causing her to flinch and softly cry. She opened her eyes and saw the same man holding a metal rod that had a bright red glowing stone on the end of it. Derek looked slightly down. He knew that he couldn't do anything or else a war would begin.

"I'm rather surprised that she didn't scream. Everyone that I have done that to did end up screaming. Anyways, this short meeting is over." Everyone began to speak again and Molly walked up to Boots. "Oh my god, Boots. Are you alright?" Boots nodded. Very few tears came out so she didn't have to wipe her eyes or fix her makeup. Molly stomped over to Derek. "How could you allow him to do that to her? She's been through enough already. She didn't deserve that and you know it." Derek sighed. "I know. But I didn't have a choice." Molly walked over to Joseph and began to talk to him. Boots stood up and walked over to Derek. "Boots, I-"

"Don't worry about it. I'm fine. That didn't really hurt." She said with a smile. Derek softly smiled back and began to talk to other people again. "Jeez, Derek. What he did was harsh. I haven't seen him do that in a long time." Derek sighed and walked away from them. He poured a random drink into a glass and handed it to Boots. "Do you want some?" Boots shook her head. "No thanks. I don't drink alcohol." Derek shrugged and drank it, putting the empty glass down and onto the table before speaking with more people.
