Studio Talk

The guys waited patiently for Diddy to show up to the studio. Soon, he came in with a smile on his face; A smile they rarely seen. Their faces remained hard.. there was no telling what they'd get today. Diddy looked around the room..

"You guys are amazing... you know when you actually do work, you're amazing."

The guys faces never changed. They just looked around at each other. Puff's sudden change of attitude was not new to them. They became accustomed to it.

"There is an album to be made out of this and songs that need to be narrowed down. I'll let you guys decide and I'll let you know if the ones you pick made the cut."

"What's the use of picking the songs if you're just gonna go back through them?" Patrick asked.

"Since you know so much why don't you tell us what songs you don't want." Kelly added.

Puff laughed. "Man, okay... I'm not going to do everything for you guys. I'll tell you the first single though.." Diddy opened up the notebook that was given to him. "Say yes is going to be the first single. We get in the booth with B. Cox and perfect it. Get some moves together and start the video.. then begin promoting for an album. Understood?"

Most of the guys hated to be bossed around in business about their music, their craft, their art. Carnell most definitely didn't want Sean Combs telling him which song to put out when he didn't help write any hooks. He shook his head and looked to Dustin, who had a crazy expression on his face.

"Is that understood or do we have a problem?" P. Diddy asked again.

Dustin was fired up. "Prob—"

Patrick cut him off. "No problem. We got it."

Diddy smiled as Patrick's brothers looks at him crazy. "Good. We start perfecting next week. See y'all then." Puff walked out and the shit hit the fan.

"Man, what the fuck was that?" Dustin asked Patrick.

"Yeah, who said we agreed to that shit." Bryan was heated as well.

"Guys chill. Say yes would be a great single."

"First of all, this is OUR album. WE should be making the decisions. Not him. He knows nothing about the songs and the time we put into creating this. He just has a list of them and the records. Why does he get to choose?" Carnell wanted to know.

Kelly chimed back in. "Basically he's telling us what we should do based off him listening to the songs probably once."

"What about what we want?" Bryan asked. "Why can't we choose our own single? Why don't we get a choice?"

"This is going to work out fine bros. I promise." He said without explaining why he cut Dustin off.

"I'm starting to think you been meeting up with Diddy personally or something. Why is everything he says golden to you?" Dustin asked. "I been handling our business and asking what is best for us and letting us come up with the final decision. Why are you letting him take over?"

"He's just trying to do what's best for us. And I'm not meeting up with him personally. I'm just agreeing with him. Plus I'm just as clueless as you all are about this. And who else is going to work with us?"

"So you think Say Yes is the perfect single for us?" Kelly asked.

"Yes."

"Then we'll see when we perfect it and get it this video started. We're going to see how good it turns out.." Dustin got up and left out of the conference room. Everyone else begin to leave as well.
