"Keep playing if you'd like. See if I'm right." I finish. With my back turned to my team, I walk out of the gym. I know Aomine is behind me as I hear him peeling himself off the floor, the both of us planning to warm up before the game. "What was that?" Aomine asks me as soon as the doors swing shut. "The Tetsu I know doesn't act that way. What next? You're going to abandon team play too?" I just scoff at him. My inner turmoil spikes. "I don't know what's wrong with me." I say quietly. "I know this isn't me. But suddenly it's like I have no filter or control over my emotions. It's like the power I've gained is slowly consuming me." I finish in a whisper. Aomine stills. "Let's jog it out." He offers and starts to run. I follow him at the same speed. We jog quietly for a while. "Do you think it's a bad thing?" I ask. It takes him a while to answer. "How do I say this?" He pauses. "Not necessarily,... but for some reason you sound like a lot like Akashi." I ponder over what Aomine said as we near the gym once again. "Okay. I think I get it. I'll gain control over my emotions. Don't worry. I won't let the power cloud my mind." I smile at Aomine. "Thanks Aomine. Now, let's watch me beat you at basketball." With that, Aomine drops the serious look and throws his head back with laughter. I join him, chuckling slightly. We enter the gym and watch as the second and third years overwhelm the first years. Riko shouts and tells the two teams to line up. Aomine wraps his arm around my shoulders. "Your stamina improved." I hear him whisper in my ear. "I didn't notice it before, but I think it's on par with mine now." "Of course it is." I state in a matter-of-fact type of tone. "If it wasn't, why would I decide challenging you to a 1 on 1 would be a good idea?" I ask him. "True." He replies before removing his arm from my shoulders. "I'll win though!" Aomine states in a louder tone, making our presence known to the rest of the team. "We'll see." I reply, glancing at him quickly. He just winks in my direction. "You better go all out." I warn Aomine before stepping on the court. "You bet!" He exclaims as Riko sounds the whistle. The match has begun.
