Before I went to Serin, I was ecstatic about the practice game. Playing against Kuroko-cchi after losing to him multiple times does that to you. Yet, for some reason, I lost that excitement. Kuroko-cchi seemed awfully unenthusiastic. He is not a very emotional person in the first place but he seemed more lifeless than usual. Like being with Aomine-cchi drained him and hurt him more than usual. I don't know what, but something seemed amiss with Kuroko-cchi. The only person other than Aomine-cchi that I can ask is Akashi-cchi. After all, Akashi-cchi had some sort of bond with Kuroko-cchi when we were at Teiko. I can't ask Aomine-cchi in this case 'cause he's currently at Serin. Therefore I'm gonna call Akashi-cchi if he knows what's up with Kuroko-cchi. I dial Akashi-cchi's number and wait. I know that the only time Akashi-cchi wouldn't answer would be if he was playing, so I wait patiently, or as patiently as I can get. "Yes?" I hear Akashi ask over the line as he picks up. "Hey Akashi-cchi!" I yell enthusiastically. "What do you want Kise?" He asks once again in a bored tone. He sighs over the line as I begin. "It's Kuroko-cchi." I state. "What's wrong with Kuroko?" He asks in a slightly more interested tone. "He's..." I start hesitantly. "He's what Kise? I don't have all day." Akashi-cchi demands. "Kuroko-cchi's different. The atmosphere around him is so unlike him. I can feel the power and despair flowing around him. I don't know what's wrong, but having Aomine at Serin might have caused whatever it is." Akashi-cchi is silent for a bit. Then he says, "Very well. We'll observe at the competitions. Don't visit him too often or tell the others. We don't want to cause alarm do we?" "No." I answer. "You have a practice game with Serin right?" Akashi-cchi asks. "Yes." I reply. "Then make sure to observe then and tell me what you notice." Akashi-cchi finishes. "Yes. Of course Akashi-cchi. Thanks for your help!" I agree. "Thanks for calling me." I hear him say and the line clicks. I put my phone down on the table beside my bed. I use my arms as a pillow and stare at my ceiling for some time until I drift off. "I'll beat you Kuroko-cchi and Aomine-cchi and I'll take it one step at a time." is my last thought before I fall into oblivion.
