Comet walked Rudy over to Santa's office and patted his back. He was old enough to go to reindeer school so that he may fly with the rest of the reindeer. "So, are you scared?"
"Of what?" Rudy asked.
"You know, going to school and all."
"Well, why would I be?" He giggled. "As soon as I'm finished with it, we can always be around each other!"
Comet smiled. "It's gonna be tough though! One does not simply go to reindeer school and get to be on Santa's crew immediately!"
"I can handle it! I can handle anything if I just believe in myself!" He hugged Comet tightly and closed his eyes. "You taught me that, Comet."
Comet rubbed his boyfriend's back lovingly and smiled. "I love you, Rudy."
"I love you more, Comet."
They entered the office and the big man was sitting in his chair, writing on papers.
"Santa! I'm here!" called Rudy.
Santa looked up and waved with a smile. "Well, hello there, Rudolph! How are you today?"
"I'm feeling great!" He could hardly contain his excitement.
"Ho ho, you seem to be really ecstatic, Rudolph!" He rubbed his beard and laughed. "Let me guess... You're here to enroll in reindeer school?"
"Yes!" He jumped giddily.
"Alright, settle down, Rudy," Comet placed his hand gently on Rudy's shoulder.
"Sorry!" He giggled.
Santa grabbed some papers from another drawer and sat them on the table. "Alright, Rudolph, sit down so we can fill these papers out together."
"Yes sir!" He jumped into the chair and beamed with excitement.
"Alright, I'm gonna go help Donner with some stuff at the clinic. Supper's ready when you get home, Rudy!" Comet said as he waved goodbye.
"See you later, Comet!"
As the two started on the paperwork, the ghostly figure of Claire watched from the side table.
"Yay! Rudy's finally going to reindeer school!" She shouted with excitement.
Santa laughed slightly and continued filling out Rudy's paperwork.
"Santa?" Rudy tilted his head. "What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing, Rudolph. Just thought about something nice."
"Ah, okay."
Claire watched her brother and smiled. "I'm always here, every step of the way, big bro. Even if you can't see me."
