Watching them lower Mugga boby in the dirt, it frustrated Dave. Mugga was killed in prison but he paid to have his body shipped to Harlem. Mugga Mom, Ms. Celina was there and of course she was crying. She was burying her first son today and it broke her heart. She appreciated the fact Dave brought her baby home where he belongs.
Taking off his tie, Dave threw it in the front seat before grabbing the envelope out the glove compartment. Opening his door, Dave dapped up Hansen and Mike.
"We doing it today?" Dave nodded and handed him the envelope. "As soon as Little lady strikes."
Little Lady was code word for six o'clock.
"Alright bruh." They hugged before Dave got in his car and pulled off. Running his hand down his face, Dave sighed. The burial of his best friend was really getting to him, he couldn't believe it. Mugga was gone. He knew he would've been proud of some of his accomplishments but not the ones that caused Geles to leave him. Two nights ago after he slammed her into the wall, Geles packed up her and the girls things and left. She dropped Kairi off to her grandma house and went home with her Mom.
Parking his Bentley in front of his Mom house, he got out and went in the house. "What's up Dee?" Darlene looked at Dave and rolled her eyes. "I'm guessing you haven't heard from Geles yet?"
"I didn't. But, if I did I still wouldn't tell you. She's gone this time and you're so lucky if she comes back."
"I know I fucked up."
"That's all you ever do these days." Dave was hurt by her comment but he knew it was true. All he ever did these days was fuck up and apologize. This time everything was catching up to him.
"I'm sure she'll be in the courthouse Monday, she wants to fight for King too."
"How can I make this up to her?"
"You can't. This is the what? Fourth time? Just let her have her time and be thankful you haven't gotten any divorce papers yet."Dave looked up when his mom walked in the room. Trease had a sleeping Kairi on her hip.
"She should be out for tonight. You taking her back to Georgia house today?"
"Yeah, I got something to do today." Trease sighed and Dave grabbed her daughter out her arms. "So you just bouta keep sending her from house to house since Geles gone?"
"Look, ma I'm trying. I'm not used to do it fulltime without Geles, they gotta routine going on and ion know how to do the shit."
"You was a father before Geles came along."
"Kairi was little then." Darlene stood up and grabbed her purse. "You made your bed, now you gotta lay in it."
"Thanks Darlene, the words of encouragement is appreciated."
Shrugging Darlene hugged her mom, "I speak the truth." Getting Kairi in her booster seat, Dave headed to Georgia house. He would've came back to get her but he had some important plans today. Once he got back in the car, he dialed Geles number but it straight to voicemail. "Were sorry the number you have dialed has been disconnected, please hang up and try again."
It took a lot of Dave to not call his boys and find out where she went but he knew it wouldn't have change anything. His sister was right, he made his bed and now it was time for him to lay in it.

Standing in front of her fathers memorial, The tears slipped down her face. Tichina watched from the car with Kamiyah in her arms as Geles placed the flowers down by his name.
