I stormed down the stairs steam possibly forming a trail behind me as it emerged from my ears and possibly my nose. I spotted Colton sitting at the bar looking rather uncomfortable with the blonde hartlett practically throwing herself at him. He sipped on his drink giving her small, forced smiles when she spoke then turned back staring absent mindedly into to the crowd of dancers.
I glanced at the dancers performing on stage and had a sudden wave of envy. The thought never crossed my mind but now the seed had been planted by Mike I really would have loved the chance to perform again. Getting paid would have been a bonus. I stared longingly at the choreographed dance routine, my own moves started bouncing around in my head. Maybe it wouldnt be such a bad thing after all.
I decided to throw Colton a lifeline, heading towards the bar we locked eyes. Something in his gaze made my heart falter a little. I couldn't quite put a finger on why so I ignored it.
"Gonna buy your girl a drink baby boy" I asked him slipping in between him and the blonde tart wearing practically nothing.
"Of coarse baby girl, what'll it be" he finally said after catching on.
I heard a huff from behind me so I turned to face her.
"Can I help you?" it wasn't exactly a question
"I've been taking to him for the last 20 minutes and he never mentioned he had a girlfriend" she spat venomously looking past me at Colton.
"He probally never mentioned wanting some tart rubbing her crotch up his leg either but we don't all ask questions first do we?" I smiled confidently at her standing between his legs. The skin on my hips where his thighs were resting started to burn, not a bad burn, the kind of longing burn. Longing for more. Longing for skin on skin contact.
She stood mouth gaping at me as if I was from another planet for a few seconds before turning on her cheap heels storming off towards the exit.
I sat on the stool next to Colton blushing a little at the tingling sensation still lingering from the contact with his thighs. He looked smart in his black dress pants and collared black shirt he had unbuttoned showing off his white singlet underneath.
Realizing I had just checked him out from head to toe I turned to my drink hoping he wouldn't notice the blush I felt coming on.
"Thanks for that she really couldn't take a hint" He thanked me sincerely with a cheeky smile playing at his lips. He obviously noticed my checking him out.
"You looked uncomfortable and I needed a drink, you scratch my back I'll scratch yours." I said with a shrug of my shouders as if it was no big deal. It's not like I was jealous of the skank throwing herself at the new guy I've said barely two words to since meeting him not even a day ago. Yeah no not jealous.
"Can I ask you a question that has nothing to do with me?" he asked
"ahhh yeah I suppose" I turned towards him giving him my full attention
"Does he always treat you like that?" he gestured with his eyes to the upstairs room we were all just in. I knew he meant Mike.
Replaying the different situations I've been in with him over the last few weeks he had, on more than one occasion, been nothing less than an ass. Sometimes he was sweet but sometimes I catch myself thinking it was more driven by lust than something deep and meaningfull for me.
Sitting with him in that room I sort of had a flash of the future and in it I was just a trophy wife. I remembered the look in his eye after I had that fight with Donna. As he walked towards me he looked at me like I was a prize. Maybe he thought I could hold my own so I could fit into his way of life well. I sighed internally. Maybe I just think to much.
