Sock - My children

How they've grown up so fast! Clorox was now 50 months old and I myself 45. Stewella and Jim were 18 months and Breadward was 34. I looked in the mirror. My hem was frayed and my fabric was wrinkled. Clorox came up behind me. He took me in his "arms" and cradled me. I smiled. Clorox and I had spent our entire lives together, and it had been happier than I had ever imagined. He was still handsome, his faded label giving him a rugged look. He was still the bottle I had fallen in love with all those years ago. We were going to visit Breadward and his husband. (Remember that hat person that was snorting Borax with Breadward? They got married!) Anyway, he and his husband just adopted a baby girl and we were going to their house to meet her. Stewella and Jim would be there also.

When we got there, Stewella ran up and hugged me. She looked so professional in her buisness suit. I coudn't believe this was our life. The years had came by so fast, almost like one of those novels where time skips and the characters are suddenly older. Jim looked just like his father did, except slightly dumber. (I take that back I shouldn't say that to my son.) I was so proud of my leetle childs and how they grew up.

Stewella was a perfect replica of me! Breadward came into the room, his child in hand. She was an adorable baby... sock. She looked just like me, stripes and all. "We named her Sock, after you," the hat, (whose name was Hattrick) said, as he put his arm around Breadwards shoulder.

I held tiny Sock in my arms, shushing her cries. She stopped crying and looked up at me. Her eyes were a watery blue color that made her white fabric look even cleaner. Her pouty lips turned up into a smile and she started to laugh. I cooed at the little Sock's laugh, her voice like little bells. I handed her to Hattrick and went to find Clorox. He was on the couch, watching the wheel of fortune!!! Stewella and Jim sat on the couch opposite of Clorox. It brought back so many delightful memories, seeing the family together. I remembered when our children were well... children, and they would sit on Clorox' lap while he bounced them up and down. My life was close to over and it was comforting that I had done a good job as a parent and as a wife.

When dinner arrived, (we had the same Chinese food that I had had before I was pregnant) I stuffed my wrinkly face with choumein and wontons. I may have been old but I could still eat like a monster! When the food was over, Clorox let out a big burp and everyone laughed like in one of those Peppa pig episodes. I half expected everyone to fall over, kicking their legs in the air.

We said our goodbyes and left. The car was old and needed gas constantly. We stopped the gas station to fill up the tank. I scrolled through my phone's old pictures. I remembered the first time we met. Memories invaded my head. Meeting him, His house, the lawsuit, the actual lawsuit, my jellybeans, learning to parent, moving houses, jumping off the roof, and most importantly, Breadward. A tear rolled slowly down my cheek. Clorox opened the door to the car and sat down. He looked over at the phone and hugged me. We had overcome so much together and It had gotten us far. All that we had built, wasn't for nothing after all.
