I watched sadly as Clorox put the burned pancake in the trash. I figured I should help him so I grabbed a box of cereal from the top of his fridge and dumped a bit in a bowl. I did the same with my bowl and added milk. He smiled warily and leaned down toward me. Our lips met yet again and I could taste the bleach in his mouth. I smiled. Just then, It seemed a switch turned on inside the both of us and we both snapped back to reality. We grabbed our coats and rushed out the door. I knew the way back to the laundry machine by now and It was obvious Clorox had mastered the route. When we finally reached the laundry machine, he helped me up and followed right behind me. The town hall wasn't far from the opening so it didn't take long to walk there. Clorox held the door open for me. I nodded to him and entered the rather large building.

The secretary was at the front desk, which not surprisingly was made of laundry sheets stacked on top of one another. Clorox rang the bell. She finished writing whatever it was that she was writing and looked up. "Can I help you?" she asked, perkily. She was an attractive pair of panties, with lace at the hem. My face burned as Clorox kept staring at her, his eyes glazed over. I decided to be the mature one and spoke up "Why yes, we're looking to file a lawsuit," I said, trying to sound perky like the secretary. After hearing those words, the panty-secretary stared at me, her mouth agape. "Is there a problem?" I added crossing my arms. She closed her mouth abruptly. "Of course not!" she exclaimed, remembering to be optimistic. "I'll print you the paperwork and we can book you a meeting with the mayor." I filled out the paperwork and shook Clorox's arm sharply. "Let's go Clorox, we're done here." Clorox looked up. I was starting to think he had a habit of day-dreaming, which was fine, but not when it was about some other girl.

When we got back to his house, I turned around and slapped Clorox. He looked at me angrily. "What in the heel was that for?" he yelled. I couldn't even think. Was this jealousy? I didn't care. I started sobbing. He immediately became sympathetic and wrapped his arms around me. He picked me up and carried me to the living room. He set me down gently and sat on the nearby loveseat. He waited until I was done crying to start talking. "What happened Sock?" he asked. I took a deep breath and started to explain. "it's just that, I saw you staring at that panty woman in a not-friendly way and I couldn't take it anymore!" I collapsed into tears for the second time today.

Clorox sighed heavily. "Listen, Sock. I don't want anything to do with her. We just have some history is all." I was confused. "And may I ask what that history was?" I asked, almost demanding. Clorox took a breath and began to spill the beans. "Okay, so her name is Anne. She and I were dating for a while and things took off from there. Eventually, we had a fight and she told me she was pregnant." I gasped. "YOU GOT ANOTHER WOMAN PREGNANT?" I yelled, infuriated. "I'm not done yet," Clorox said. "I immediately apologized and fixed our relationship. But a few months later she wasn't showing at all! I knew something was up so I confronted her. She blew it off saying this was normal but a week later she confessed to faking a pregnancy." "Why would she do that?" I asked, now calmer than earlier. "She wanted us to stay together so she made me believe this child would have a better future if we stayed together."

Clorox got off the loveseat and hugged me. I felt comforted by his embrace. That was when I knew I could trust him with my life. I remembered how we had met in a KFC. That seemed forever ago.
