"Hungry?" Lauren asked at some point and I, so deep in my day dreams, took a moment to process what that meant before I nodded slightly on my girlfriend's shoulder.

"Come on, we'll go to a special place in town. It's truly magical." Lauren commented and patted my backside to get me to stand up. I smiled before doing as I was silently told and heading towards the house. Lauren beat me there, however, and was waiting in a suit, leaning against the doorframe, when I arrived, eliciting a small 'wow' from me.

"Oh... is this place like a-" I didn't get to finish my sentence before she answered it for me.

"No, you don't need to wear a suit. This is for you." I nodded and Lauren smirked, "Plus these cuff links will let the waiters know that I won't be eating."

"Oh." I nodded, and the realised something from earlier, "Oh! When you said 'truly magical', you meant actually, truly, magical."

Lauren chuckled and outstretched her arms for a hug, which I quickly gave her.

"Ready?" She asked into the top of my head, and I smiled and nodded once more, linking our arms as she led me to her car.

"Woah, no; thats not your car, right?" I questioned incredulously as I pulled away from her and started circling the '65 mustang, wanting to run my fingertips along it but feeling like that'd spoil it somehow

"Woah, no; thats not your car, right?" I questioned incredulously as I pulled away from her and started circling the '65 mustang, wanting to run my fingertips along it but feeling like that'd spoil it somehow.

"Yeah..." Lauren replied unsurely as she climbed into the driver's seat, so I carefully joined her in the other side.

"This is, like, my dream car." I laughed and Lauren chuckled too.

"Just cause I'm a thousand years old doesn't mean I don't have style." Lauren teased and poked my side, making my laughter louder as I fought her off.

"I think that's exactly what I means." I teased right back and she shook her head as she pulled out of the driveway and drove through town. I was comfortable to just sit in silence with her a little longer until we passed the city hall, a bunch of people lounging around outside who watched us pass, and she tensed up.

"Laur, are you alright?" I asked tentatively and she just nodded and relaxed her grip on the steering wheel.

"Just a little further." She tried to smile but I saw her fangs were slightly elongated. She was on edge, which made me feel protected but scared at the same time.

"I love you." I reassured her with a hand on her shoulder and she looked down at it with a more genuine smile this time, and turned the corner so we were no longer in sight of those people who I assumed were wolves.

After a little more driving, she stopped at the side of the road, next to an empty plot where they appeared to be building something.

"Here we are." She announced and climbed out of the car, myself following closely after.

"Babe, there's nothing here." I pointed out but she kept walking anyway.

"Sure there is, chicken nugget." She replied, hinting at the nickname I'd accidentally used for her, and then wiggles her brows as she continued, "You just cant see it yet."

"You're so confusing." I mumbled under my breath as she raised her fist into the air, and when she brought it down as though knocking on something, a hollow wood sound was heard and strange ripples were sent from her fist around her, almost like a wall.

"What the hell?" I breathed out, and she smirked over at me before a door, which I could've sworn didn't exist, opened and revealed a dimly lit room on the other side with groups of people talking and laughing, the sounds of cutlery and glasses clinking together, and various other people floating around and serving them. No, they were actually floating around. Most of them had legitimate wings.

"Welcome to the Haven." Lauren grins with her tongue between her teeth and her nose scrunched up a little, linking our arms and leading me inside.

"This is crazy." I commented, noticing that some of the people inside weren't quite... people.

"Yeah, I love it here." She sighed and found a booth seat near a window, which freaked me out too.

Outside, it looked nothing like it did outside of this window. For one, the window's view was during the night whilst we were there in the sun, and there wasn't an empty plot or a road ahead of us, but a quiet looking stream with tiny glowing things like fireflies moving around in and around it, and hanging in the tree. It was gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as Lauren looked opposite me, the strange little lights reflecting in her eyes.

"What can I get for you?" A masculine voice asked, and I looked up to see a translucent boy with bright red eyes looking down at us.

"I'll have your finest wine." Lauren smirked, and made a point of fiddling with her cuff links.

"White or red?" He asked with a small nod as though he understood something.

"Red." She nodded back, and the boy looked over at me.

"And for you?"

"Um..." I had a feeling the 'wine' wasn't wine, "I'll just have some water." I decided and Lauren gave me a reassuring look before the boy smiled and put some menus on the table for us.

"I'll be right back." He announced and floated away. When I looked down, I saw that his feet were actually one tapered part of his body, like the cliche ghost in kids tv shows.

"This is so cool." I whispered to Lauren who once again smiled at me, a twinkle in her eye.

"You'll probably want to stick to this section." She offered aid, pointing to the third page of the menu where everything sounded familiar.

I glanced out of the section for a moment and saw 'Homemade Pixie Platter; made with real pixies.' and decided to listen to her.

"Thank you for bringing me here." I grinned and glanced up at her, and she winked which made me blush.

"One of the perks of dating me, I guess." She shrugged, making us both laugh.
