Hanna Collins walked her four-year-old brother, Jacob, to school. They both saw soldiers on street corners and shuddered. Hanna knew that her family had a big secret she couldn't tell anyone because it could possibly send them to jail or even one of the horrible camps they saw on the news.

"Hanna? What happens if the soldiers take mommy away?" Jacob asked.

"Shhh! Jacob!" Hanna said as she put her fingers to her lips indicating that he needed to be quiet. "We can't let those men hear you," Hanna said. They both walked in silence. As they walked up to Jacob's elementary school Hanna gave Jacob a big hug. "I love you more than the moon, more than the stars, more than the houses and the cars." Jacob looked into Hanna's scared blue eyes. "Hanna?" Jacob asked, "Whats wrong?" Jacob was confused. Why was she crying? Hanna wiped the sleeve of her school uniform on her face. "Jacob I am fine. Don't worry." Hanna said. "Now go on."

Hanna was really upset when she saw German soldiers shoving men and women into locked cars. "steig in den LKW ein. oder der Meister wird sehr verärgert sein." One of the soldiers said. (translation: Get into the truck. Or else master will be very upset.)

"Can I help you, young lady?" Another soldier said. Hanna was confused. "Um no." "Then get to school." He said. Hanna was upset about his attitude. She walked the rest of the way to her school.
