"Come on Christina, push!" Bobby said as I held onto his hand for dear life. My water broke a while ago and I've been in labor for what seems like forever.
"I'm trying!"
"Christina, a few more." The doctor said. "1...2...3...push!" I pushed as hard as I could. "I see the head, Christina, you're doing great. Let's try that again." On my mark I pushed even harder.
"You can do this Gooby, come on." I push again and grip tighter onto his hand.
"I'm sorry I'm hurting you." I apologized once again.
"It's fine, just keep going; the baby is almost out."
After a few more pushes my baby is finally out.
"It's a girl!" Our nurse said.
"Awe! Oh gosh! Let me hold her! I want to see the person that's been inside of me for nine months. Let me show her my love and affection." They all chuckled at my comment then told me they had to clean her up first. After a while they handed her to me and I couldn't help the tears falling down my cheek. Her eyes were closed but she was so small and had a faint smile on her face. She wasn't one of those bald babies; she had short, nice, soft, brown hair; just like Bobby's. She weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces; not to big, not to small. Her cry wasn't loud, and it wasn't too soft. She wrapped her hand around my finger and I looked over to Mom and Bobby who was right beside me.
"She's beautiful," My mom whispered. "just like her mother." She wiped the sweat off my forehead and kissed it.
"What should we name her?" I asked Bobby. He glanced at me then back at her and smiled.
"She looks like....a Piper."
"Hmm...Piper?" Piper wasn't a name we went over, but I liked it. It looked perfect for her.
"Yeah."
"I love it." I pecked his lips. "What about her middle name?"
"Victoria?"
"Like...mine?"
"Yeah, her name, your middle, my last." Oh gosh that's adorable.
"That's adorable."
"You're adorable."
"Not at this moment." I moved my bangs off to the side. The nurse came in and asked us what we had named her and we told her.
"What a beautiful name." She smiled and wrote it down on her clipboard. A few seconds later there was a knock on the door and my dad's head poked out. I motioned him in and he came beside the bed. We all adored Piper as she was so tiny and gentle. The doctors had to take her in for some testing so I took this time to get some rest. I woke up a while later to see Piper in Sarah's arms while Mark, Lauren, and everyone else circled around.
"She's up." Bobby said looking at me. He took Piper and walked over. He placed her in my arms and she looked up at me with her bright hazel eyes. I started sobbing. She was just so beautiful I couldn't help it. She was a little bundle of joy and she was so delicate. It was all worth it. The back pains, all the doctor appointments, the cravings, and so much more. There was just something about her that made me love her more by the second.
"I'm the alpha, you're the omega." Mark whispered over my shoulder staring down at my little girl.
"Shush, Marcus." Mom said laughing at him.
The doctor said everything went well, Piper was nice and healthy, and we could go home by the end of the week! In the mean time, Mark and our parents will finish up the nursery while Bobby and I have quality time with our new addition to the family.
