*Gosh, sorry for the late and short update. I needed to post something and I've been having so much writer's block and I've been busy but I love you guys! You guys are great! Keep reading, vote, comment, and share!*

*Still Piper's point of view*

"And finally; first place of the Young Choir Ensemble Contest in the state of California goes to," My heart was pounding and I was holding hands with other soloists in my group. I couldn't take this suspense, I don't have any patience left in my body. "Kingsworth Valley High!" WE WON. Next thing I heard was Mom running and screaming, "MY BABY! SHE WON!" An odd character she is. The three of us grabbed the trophy and ran to the choir and cheered. We went to the nearest pizza parlor and celebrated for a while until it was only Hannah, Lucy, our friend Billy and I.  Billy was the male solo in 21 Guns, he had an amazing voice. We were actually really close friends, he's a little older than me, a little taller, and little weirder.

"So...Who's all going to homecoming?" Lucy said in a fun, exciting tone.

"Me, of course." Hannah added and Billy just nodded along.

"Probably not me." I chuckled.

"What! Why?!" Lucy snapped.

"I don't know, it's just a busy week. Band has to play at the homecoming game against the Tigers, so I'll be tired from the band party after." Ahhh yes, I'm in the marching band. Mom tought me what she remembered from the flute and I decided to join.

"Little Ms. Flute can take a break from band parties."

"We'll not really, I'd rather be there than a dance."

"What if someone asked you?" Billy asked smiling.

"Well, I mean, maybe; depends on who's asking."

"I think I can get you to go that dance." He smirked as he put his arms through his jacket.

"Oh? Are you going to be asking?" I teased. We heard a car honk from outside.

"That's my mom, I gotta go," He hugged me and headed towards the door. "And who knows?" He laughed and flashed a wink as he went to his car.

"You guys were totally flirting." Hannah and Lucy said simultaneously leaning over the table.

"Oh gosh, no we weren't."

"Yes you were!!! Do you think he's going to ask you? WOULD YOU SAY YES?" Hannah started shouting causing everyone else there to shush us; even Mom and Dad who where across the restaurant.

"We're just friends. I don't want to go." I protested.

"Mmmhmm," Lucy said in disbelief. "We should get going, we have band tomorrow."

The next day as I buttoned my green uniform overalls I was bombarded with questions from Hannah and Lucy about Billy. No matter how many times I said I probably wasn't going to go they would not stop!

"Guys, let it go!" I rolled my eyes as slid my arms through the sleeves of my jacket, buttoning it up, the hooking it so you can't see the hook, the connected my sash. They kept talking about him anyways. Rolling eyes emoji.

Throughout the game the three of us just danced, screamed, played songs, and cheered. Now it was time for half time. We got in formation and followed the clicks given by one of our snare drums. After the away band finished it was our time to shine. We were called to attention before screaming, 'K-V-H; LETS GO KNIGHTS!' Then we played our first two songs as we marched in all sorts of directions; making all sorts of shapes. Just as I made my way to my spot on the hash placed on the 50 yard line I looked up where I'd usually see Billy being goofy because he knew I'm in front at that point of the song, today he was actually wearing a...tuxedo? As I continued playing I eyed him as he turned around and pulled out a poster. Luckily for him I had to move up 16 steps in the last measure of our song. And it read:

PIPER, WILL YOU TO HOMECOMING

WITH ME? YAY OR NAY?

I heard a little 'oh my god' from Jessica who was another flute and ended next to me at the end of the last song. We marched off the field and made our way under the bleachers then when we were allowed to roam free I was tackled by Hannah.

"DID YOU SEE THAT?! WHAT HE DID? OH GOSH YOU BETTER SAY YES."

"And if I say no?" I raised my eyebrows.

"I will set you on fire."

"I like the burning sensation." I winked and walked away to buy something to drink. I felt arms wrapped around me. "Hannah, I told you already I'm-" I stopped when I turned around to see Billy's bright blue eyes pierce into mine. "Oh, it's just you."

"So...about homecoming..."

"Well-"

"What can I do to make you go?" He pouted. "Oh my god look over there!" He pointed, so I looked to see... nothing.

"Ha-ha-ha very fun-" I turned my head to have his lips meet mine.

"Homecoming?"

"What was- what? Wow. Um..yeah. I'll go but don't kiss me again. That was weird."

"First is worst," He kissed me again but this time it was just a little bit longer. "second is best."

"I just- really? You, Billy, are one sly fox."

"It's a Gera thing."
