Samantha's POV

Ugh. What is happening? Oh well, I guess I'll just go back to sleep. School doesn't need me, and I don't need school.
"One,"
Wait, is someone whispering?
"Two,"
Oh no. It's Chloe.
"Three!"
I'm screwed. Suddenly, a bucket of freezing water is poured on my head. I shoot up with wide eyes only to find a bucket on the floor, my tail in my bed, and Chloe with a speaker in my face.
"Ugh! Now I have to dry my tail! It's going to take forever!" I start to rant, "come on, Chloe! You know I would get up if you told me like a normal per- wait. Why is there a speaker in my face?" Music immediately starts to blast in my ear with a crazy best friend dancing and screaming like a manic.
"YEAH! I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG! YEAH! YOU CAME TAGGING ALONG!" Chloe starts screaming the lyrics to "Tick Tick Boom" by The Hives.
"Dear lord," I mumble to myself. I finish drying my tail with the part of my bed sheet that isn't wet. I guess I needed a wake up call for my first day of school. School! "Chloe! We need to get ready for school!" I yell over the music. Chloe turns the music off. I look at her and we exchange glances. There is a moment of silence. You could literally hear a pin drop.
"Go!" she says. I bolt to go get my makeup and hair dryer from the bathroom while Chloe goes to get her clothes. When I finish brushing my teeth in the bathroom, I run out with my stuff while Chloe runs in to take a quick shower. I dry off my bed with the hair dryer and pick out my outfit. I slip on a white cami with a peach v-neck t-shirt. I put on some jean shorts that come to about the middle of my thigh. I quickly put on some mascara and eyeliner just as Chloe comes out of the bathroom. I run downstairs and make us bacon and pancakes. She joins me when I finish cooking them.
"And the old routine still works! I feel like we accomplished the greatest thing in to world!" Chloe jokingly states.
"Right," I say sarcastically, "because morning routines are best things ever." We finish our breakfast and head to the school.
"You know I was reading the school's brochure, and it says in tiny print at the bottom 'Supernaturals Only'. Did you know that?" Chloe questions.
"No, I didn't." I respond. I really didn't, and now I might regret going to this school. I'm not saying I don't like being surrounded by people I can share my secret with. I just won't like being the only mermaid. Yep, that's me. There are only 40 mermaids my age living on North America. So the chance that one of them (other than me) will be attending this school is really unlikely.
The car ride there was silent, but it was the comfortable kind. We were lost in our thoughts as I pulled up to our new school. I parked the car and slowly stepped out. "Well, here goes nothing," I whisper to myself.
A/N ~ Whoop! Next chapter done! Finally =P So just for some backround on Samantha, she is 18 and so is Chloe. I thought it would be obvious with the whole living alone thing. But because I love yall, I am just giving you a heads up to make it easier! As always..
