It was 3 o'clock in the morning and everyone was sleeping over at my house. It was spring break and my parents had a business trip. (lmao, why are the parents always out of town) They all agreed to come over and we stayed up until around 2, then almost everyone had passed out, everyone but me and Ruby, that it.
I'm the middle of our favorite the movie, Heathers, everyone had fallen asleep. It was around the part where Veronica and JD kill Ram and Kurt, my favorite scene. Looking around, I noticed everyone passed out, except for Ruby who still sat up eating popcorn.
"Hey." I whispered at him.
"Hey. Everyone's passed out." He whispers back.
"Yeah." I smile looking around, "you know what that means." I say standing up, motioning for him to follow me.
There, in my bathroom upstairs, we stood making out with only a night light on. At one point, I started laughing.
"Shhhh! You're gonna get us caught." He tells me putting up a finger.
"I don't care." I say giggling.
"I thought we were trying to keep this thing, our thing, on low."
"Who cares. Our friends should be supported of our relationship, if they aren't, then are hey even our real friends?" I ask pulling back into the kiss.
"You're right, you're right." He says giving in. His hands where at the hem of my shirt, mine at his jeans. I feel as if it could have lead to something more, if it weren't for a loud crash coming from downstairs.
"What was that?!" I whisper.
"How am I supposed to know? I've been with you the whole time!" He whispers back. "I'm gonna go check it out."
"No! Stay here, or, I'll go with you." I tell him as he unlocks the door. Holding hands as we walk towards the stairs. We here voices and realize it may just that everyone else has woken up. I let out sigh of relief and look at him.
"Should we go down?" I ask.
"No, not together. Cause then it's gonna make it seem like we were doing stuff."
"Well, we were doing stuff." I say looking down. I'm really upset that he doesn't want to come clean to our friends, what's so hard about that? "Do you not want them to know that have a thing?" I tell him, my feeling hurt.
"No! No, no, no, no! It's not like that, at all! I just don't know how they'll react, is all." He say smiling, which makes me blush like crazy.
"Ok then, so does that mean I can do this?" I say jumping hard on the staircase.
"What are you doing? Now they know we're up here!"
"That's the point!" I say pulling in for a kiss. It lasted a good couple seconds before they came running in.
"What are you doing?!" Everyone says, staring at us wide-eyed.
"What does it look like they're doing!" Monse says full of excitement, "they're dating!" All I can do is laugh, but all Ruby can do is make his face turn super red. "How long has this been going on?" Monse asks us, still, obviously excited.
"2 months." I say holding his hand, which is very sweaty.
"And you didn't tell us?!" Cesar jumps in.
"We wanted it to be a secret, but I decided it was time."
"I'm glad you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have been able to keep that secret." Jamal sighs, putting his hand over his heart.
The rest of the night we stayed up. We finished watching Heathers, then binge watched the first season of "Santa Clara Diet" on Netflix. Me and Ruby slept together on the couch, which was a relief. There wasn't any weight on my shoulders now that the secret was out. And it turned out to be the perfect weekend.
